Description of two new Asian Pristaulacus Kieffer 1900 (Hymenoptera: Aulacidae)

    GIUSEPPE FABRIZIO TURRISIKYOHEIWATANABE

查看更多>>摘要:Two Aulacidae from Asia, Pristaulacus japonicus Turrisi & Watanabe, sp.n. (Japan) and Pristaulacus takakuwai Turrisi & Watanabe, sp.n. (Thailand), are described and illustrated. The former species is very similar to the Palearctic Pristaulacus gibbator (Thunberg 1822) and is recognized by the different sculpturing of the upper part of the meso- and metapleu-ra, slightly longer petiole, longer ovipositor, and several features of the male genital capsule, e.g., the shape of the apex of the paramere, lamina volsellaris and penis valve. The latter species is not obviously allied to any other described Oriental Pristaulacus and is recognized by the combination of the following characters: colour pattern, with setae of the body golden, wings yellowish hyaline, fore wing with a moderately wide substigmal brown spot and apex infuscated, hind leg mostly black to black-brown, shape of the head, with temple well developed, and ovipositor relatively short, 0.9x fore wing length. Images of both treated speciesare freely available at the web site: http://morphbank.net.

Nedubroviidae, a new family of Mecoptera: the first Paleozoic long-proboscid scorpionflies

    ALEXEI S. BASHKUEV
    11页
查看更多>>摘要:Nedubroviidae fam. nov. consists of Nedubrovia gen. nov., with Nedubrovia shcherbakovi sp. nov. as the type species, N. deformis sp. nov., and N. mostovskii comb, nov., originally described in Mesopanorpodes. The second genus of Nedubroviidae is Paranedubrovia gen. nov., with Paranedubrovia novokshonovi sp. nov. as the type species, and including P. minutissima sp. nov. Of these five species, all originate from the Late Permian of European Russia except for the Early Triassic N. mostovskii. The wingvenation of these species indicates membership in the long-proboscid mecopteran clade Aneuretopsychina. The body structure of one species, N. shcherbakovi, includes a long proboscis consistent with fluid feeding on contemporaneous plants.

Two new species of aphid parasitoids (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Aphidiinae) from the Balkan Peninsula

查看更多>>摘要:Two new species of aphid parasitoids from the Balkan Peninsula are described. Aphidius chaetosiphonis sp. n. was reared from Chaetosiphon sp. I Potentilla clusiana, while Aphidius balcanicus sp. n. was reared from Acyrthosiphon malvae I Geranium spp.associations. The taxonomic position of both species has been discussed. The Balkan Peninsula is one of the six biodiversity hotspots in Europe (Horvat et al. 1974; Krystufek & Reed 2004) which are characterized by very diverse ecosystems, combined witha high percentage of plant endemism (Turrill 1929; Horvat et al. 191 A). These factors could lead to species diversity patterns of aphids and parasitoids (Dolphin & Quicke, 2001).

Notes on the genus Prismosticta (Lepidoptera, Bombycidae) with description of a new species from China

    XING WANGGUO-HUA HUANGMIN WANG

查看更多>>摘要:The bombycid genus Prismosticta was established by Butler in 1880 with P. fenestrata as its type species. The genus is mainly distributed in Asian countries: Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar (Holloway, 1987; Chu & Wang, 1993, 1996; Zolotuhin & Witt, 2009). Recently, Kishida & Wang (2011) synonymized P. sinica Yang, 1995 with P. fenestrata Butler, 1880, leaving five species in the genus. Chu & Wang (1993) described 'Prismosticta unihyala' based on two malespecimens collected from the Wuyishan Mountains, Fujian Province, China, but it is distinctly separated from other Prismosticta species by the following characters: uncus with a long dorsal uncuslike projection arising from the base of uncus, and valvae asymmetrical. We consider that 'Prismosticta unihyala'' does not belong to any named genus, and will address this issue elsewhere.
