Ablechroiulus spelaeus sp. n. is characterized by having body length 0.81-1.48 mm in females and 0.74-1.20 mm in males, lip region nearly continuous and 9-13 mu m wide, stoma 23-29 mu m long or 1.8-2.7 times the lip region width, neck 166-265 mu m long, metacorpus well differentiated, oviduct with a small sac, V = 55-59, female tail (51-60 mu m, c = 14-25, c' = 1.9-2.7) with two marked sections, male tail (52, 58 mu m, c = 14.3, 20.7, c' = 2.0) with filiform posterior part, bursa leptoderan and with nine pairs of papillae (1+2/1+2+1+2), spicules 40, 44 mu m long having a terminal protuberance, and gubernaculum 20, 24 mu m long. Furthermore, one female of A. dudichi Andrassy, 1970 is described from the north of the Iberian Peninsula. Descriptions, measurements and illustrations are presented for the two species, and SEM pictures are provided for A. spelaeus sp. n. The identity of Ablechroiulus is discussed, including a historical outline, its morphological characterization, and a discussion on the status of several of its species. An emended diagnosis of the genus is provided as well as a list of its species and a key to their identification.

The mites described come from pastures and meadows in mountain areas of Central Greece (Pindos Mts.), Peloponez Peninsula (Taigetos Mts.) and Southeast Turkey, respectively. A key to species of Lacertacarus is provided.

Holothuria (Selenkothuria) carere n. sp. was found in the Mexican Pacific, from intertidal to 6 m depth. The absences of ossicles in the body wall, as well as inthe dorsal and ventral tube feet make this species unique among the species of this subgenus. Smooth straight rods with distal perforations and projections are present only in the dorsal and anal papillae, papillae at the base of the tentacles and in the tentacles. This species is distinctive within the subgenus. The shape of the ossicles shows some similarities with H. (S.) glaberrima Selenka, 1867.

Five new hosts are recorded for 4 syringophilid species: Chlorocichla flaviventris (Smith) and Andropadus latirostris Strickland (Pycnonotidae) for Syringophilopsis veselovsky Skoracki et al., 2009; Ploceus vitellinus Vieillot (Ploceidae) for S. nitens Skoracki and Dabert, 2001; Acrocephalus palustris (Bechstein) (Sylviidae) for Neoaulonastus bisetatus (Fritsch, 1958) and Cyanomitra olivacea (Smith) (Nectariinidae) for Picobia oritis Skoracki et al., 2009. The syringophilid fauna of the Ethiopian region is summarized in table.

查看更多>>摘要:Four shallow-water colonial ascidians of the genus Aplidium (Aplousobranhia: Polyclinidae) are identified in the material collected by SCUBA divers off the coast of East Kamchatka and Commander Islands. Three species from Kamchatka were previously known from this region but were wrongly identified and two of them (A. dissectum n. sp. and A. eborinum n. sp.) are now redescribed as new species. Aplidium redikorzevi nom nov. (for Amaroucium fragile Redikorzev, 1927) is recorded on Commander Islands first time from its original description.

A total of 70 species representing 31 families were observed. Species composition was similar to well studied regions in the southern Gulf of California, in that most species had distributions that span the Tropical Eastern Pacific but species endemic to Mexico or the Gulf of California ranked highest in relative abundance, frequency of occurrence, and mean density. Several species with temperate geographic distributions were more abundant and frequent than on reefs in the southern Gulf. Large-bodied, predatory species such as sharks and the Gulf Grouper, Mycteroperca jordani, were rare or absent.
