Oriental species of clusiid flies (Diptera: Clusiidae: Clusiinae)

    Sasakawa, Mitsuhiro .
    28页
查看更多>>摘要:The Oriental species of the clusiid genera Phylloclusia Hendel, 1913, Sobarocephala Czerny, 1903, Tetrameringia McAlpine, 1960, Heteromeringia Czerny, 1903, Tranomeringia Sasakawa, 1966, and Clusia Haliday, 1838, which belong to the subfamily Clusiinae in having inclinate third (lowermost, rarely fourth) fronto-orbital bristles, are revised. It is confirmed that two of these genera, Sobarocephala and Heteromeringia, indeed belong to the Clusiinae (not the Sobarocephalinae and Clusiodinae). Of the 22 species identified, 14 are described as new to science: Phylloclusia bivittata sp. nov. from Laos and Vietnam and P. sternopleuralis sp. nov. from Malaysia; Sobarocephala baculigera sp. nov. and S. fuscifacies sp. nov. from the Philippines; S. eurystylis sp. nov. from Malaysia; S. geniculata sp. nov. and S. megastylis sp. nov. from Thailand; Tetrameringia maculata sp. nov. from Laos; Heteromeringia abatanensis sp. nov. and H. spinifera sp. nov. from the Philippines, H. melanoprotoma sp. nov. from Laos, H. paraphalloides sp. nov. from Vietnam and Malaysia, and H. pectinata sp. nov. from Malaysia, Tranomeringia scutellata sp. nov. from the Philippines. New locality records are given for Phylloclusia steleocera Hendel, 1913, Sobarocephala vockerothi Sasakawa, 1993, Heteromeringia lyneborgi Sasakawa, 1966, H. melaena Sasakawa, 1966, H. mirabilis Sasakawa, 1966, H. nigricans Sasakawa, 1966, and Clusia sexlineata Frey, 1960. Keys to the Oriental species of the genera Phylloclusia, Sobarocephala, and Heteromeringia are provided, and a revised terminology for the components of the male phallus is given.

Revision of the genus Paraplaneta Warren, 1895 (Lepidoptera: Geometridae, Larentiinae) from Southeast Asia

    SEI-WOONG CHOIDIETER STUNING
    16页
查看更多>>摘要:The genus Paraplaneta Warren, 1895, until recently treated as a junior synonym of Cataclysme Hiibner [1825], is revised. Both genera are members of the tribe Cataclysmini (Herbulot, 1962-63). As a whole, eight species of Paraplaneta are recognized from Himalaya region (India, Pakistan) and China, including four new species: P. anthracica, P. griseobrun-nea, P. subfasciata (from China), and P. hreblayi (from Pakistan), described herein. A lectotype for Cataclysme conturbata sternecki Prout, 1938 is designated. Descriptions, diagnoses and illustrations of antennae, wing venation and male and female genitalia of most species are given. The tribal placement of Paraplaneta and related genera within the Cataclysmini is discussed.

A new species of Paramaka Savage & Dominguez, 1992 (Ephemeroptera: Leptophlebiidae: Atalophlebiinae) from Brazil

    Mariano, Rodolfo .
    6页
查看更多>>摘要:A new species of Paramaka is described based on nymphs and male imagos from State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The imago of Paramaka pearljam sp.n. can be easily separated from the other species of the genus by the presence of a conspicuous and large median projection with apex curved ventrally on styliger plate; and in nymph by the gills not ended in a thin apical process and tarsal claw without accessory denticles. A new key is proposed and new geographic records for the genus are reported.

Taxonomic notes, new species and identification key to the New World species of Toxophora Meigen (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Toxophorinae)

CARLOS JOSE E. LAMASMARCIA S. COURIANDRE M. CUNHA
    8页
查看更多>>摘要:Two new species of Toxophora Meigen are described and illustrated—T. paulistana sp. nov. (Neotropical) and T. azteca sp. nov. (Nearctic and Neotropical). An identification key to the New World species is also presented. Morphological differences between populations of T. aurea Macquart (1848) are recorded, illustrated and added to the key. The new species are easily recognized by: scape with long, yellow scales laterally; presence of yellow scales on mesonotum margins; posterior margin of mesonotumwith a pre-scutellar pair of setae; and yellow scales forming thin bands on posterior margins of abdominal tergites in T. paulistana sp. nov., and scape entirely covered with long dark-brown scales and yellow scales forming a broad, longitudinal stripe on center of abdominal tergites III-VII in T. azteca sp. nov.

Georgeiella, a new name for the louse genus Hopkinsiella Clay and Meinertzhagen, 1939 (Phthiraptera, Philopteridae), junior homonym of Hopkinsiella Baba, 1938 (Opisthobranchia, Goniodorididae)

    MICHEL P. VALIMRICARDO L. PALMA
    2页
查看更多>>摘要:Clay and Meinertzhagen (1939) described the genus Hopkinsiella to accommodate one new species of louse found on the Kikuyu white-headed wood-hoopoe—Phoeniculus bollei jacksoni (Sharpe, 1890)—of the bird family Phoeniculidae. Tendeiro (1957) described a second species of Hopkinsiella, parasitic on a bird species of the same family. Subsequently, Tendeiro (1961) described one more species and reviewed all the species included in the genus. We have found that the name Hopkinsiella Clay & Meinertzhagen, 1939 is preoccupied by Hopkinsiella Baba, 1938, a genus of nudibranchs -marine gastropod molluscs of the order Opisthobranchia (Baba, 1938).

Host records of Physocephala wulpi Camras, with a description of the puparium (Diptera: Conopidae)

    JENS-HERMANN STUKEMARIANO LUCIAALBERTO H. ABRAHAMOVICH
    7页
查看更多>>摘要:Physocephala wulpi Camras was reared from Xylocopa artifex Smith, Xylocopa augusti Lepeletier, and Xylocapa splen-didula Lepeletier. The puparium is described. An overview of conopid host records from the Neotropic Region, and records from Conopidae that develop in Xylocopa, is provided.

The following taxonomic changes are established: Sericothrips houji (Chou & Feng) comb. n. (from Hydatothrips), Sussericothrips melilotus Han synonymized with Sericothrips houji (Chou & Feng), H. jiawensis Chou & Feng synonymized with H. proximus Bhatti.
