The main characteristics that distinguish the new species from its congeners are, in C. itajara sp. nov.: a) labrum with dorsal arc of setae composed of 12 setae, b) segment III of labial palp with robust and pectinate setae on inner margin, c) fore femur with apex projected, with 5-6 blunt setae, d) male imago with abdominal terga V-VII witha anterolateral triangular black mark; in C. aymore sp. nov.: a) labrum with dorsal arc of setae composed of 1 + 0 + 3 setae, b) fore femur with apex projected, with 2 blunt setae, c) male imago with abdominal terga IV with kidney-like median brown mark.

The new genus is contrasted to the genera Obenbergerula Strand 1932 (= Bottcheria Hoscheck 1931) and Sibuyanella Obenberger 1942 in a table of character states. Four new species of Toxoscelus Deyrolle 1864 are described from Leyte: Toxoscelus actenodes sp. nov., T. bichromoplagiatus sp. nov., T. circumscriptus, sp. nov. and T. griseovariegatus sp. nov. and contrasted with the two previously described Toxoscelus species from Luzon: T. acutipennis Fisher 1922 and T. rugicollis Saunders 1874 in a key. The six new species andseveral putatively related genera and species are illustrated in two color plates.

Redescription of Pararhaphe and review of Arhaphe (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Largidae) of America north of Mexico

The genus Jarhaphetus Bliven,1956, syn. restit., is confirmed as junior synonym of Arhaphe Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850. Four species of the genus Arhaphe occurring in the United States are recognised and keyed: Arhaphe arguta (Bliven, 1956) comb, res-tit. (= Jarhaphetus argutus Bliven,1956; = Arhaphe snowi Bliven, 1973, syn. nov.); Arhaphe breviata Barber, 1924; Arhaphe Carolina Herrich-Schaeffer, 1850; and Arhaphe mimetica Barber, 1911, comb, restit. (from Pararhaphe mimetica (Barber, 1911)). Arhaphe cicindeloides Walker, 1873 (= Arhaphe divisa Brailovsky, 1981, syn. nov.) is redescribed based on type specimens; all the previous records of A. cicindeloides from the United States are regarded as misidentifications of A. arguta. Lectotypes of A. cicindeloides and A. mimetica are designated. The literature, bionomics, and distribution of all the mentioned taxa is reviewed.

Revision of Prosyntexis from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation of Brazil (Hymenoptera: Sepulcidae: Trematothoracinae)

查看更多>>摘要:The fossil Prosyntexis species from the Lower Cretaceous Crato Formation of Brazil are revised. The examination of three new specimens of the sepulcid species Prosyntexis gouleti Sharkey, 1990 allows amending its species diagnosis by adding new morphological characters, especially from the wing venation and from the hitherto unknown antenna. A close comparison with Prosyntexis legitima Martins-Neto et al., 2007 demonstrates that this species is a junior synonym of P. gouleti (syn. nov.). The taxonomic position of the genus Prosyntexis within Sepulcidae: Trematothoracinae and of the enigmatic Prosyntexis montsecensis Rasnitsyn and Ansorge, 2000 are discussed on the basis of the new morphological data.

查看更多>>摘要:Five new species of the Mictopsichia group of genera are described and illustrated: Mictopsichia misahuallia (type locality: Napo Province, Ecuador), Mictopsichia chirripoana (type locality: San Jose Province, Costa Rica), Rubropsichia kart-aboana (type locality: Bartica District, British Guiana), Chamaepsichia cetonia (type locality: Heredia Province, Costa Rica), and Chamaepsichia chitonregis (type locality: T. F. Amazonas, Venezuela). Although the systematic placement of the group is enigmatic, continued assignment to Archipini is recommended.
