A synopsis on the Chinese species of Clytra Laicharting, with description of two new species (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Cryptocephalinae: Clytrini)

查看更多>>摘要:The taxonomy of the genus Clytra Laicharting, 1781 occurring in China is studied. Two new species are described: Clytra (Clytraria) tanae sp. nov. from Qinghai and Yunnan, and Clytra (Clytraria) truncatula sp. nov. from Xinjiang. The Chinese fauna ofthe genus is thus increased to 13 species/subspecies in total. Keys to the Chinese genera of Clytrini and to Chinese species of Clytra are provided in addition to color plates and line drawings of habitus, maxilla, labium, male genitalia and spermatheca, which facilitates species identification; geographic distributions of 12 species/subspecies are mapped. The type specimens are deposited in Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.

A new genus and species of Pleidae (Hemiptera) from Venezuela, with notes on the genera of Pleidae

The new genus Heteroplea differs from other genera in having a distinct callus on the occiput and an ovipositor without spines, as well has having a variable medialsternal carina. The genus resembles Plea in having three tarsomeres on eachleg but appears closer to Neo-plea in many other characters. This species was collected from a hydropetric habitat, which is different than other pleid species normally inhabit. With the addition of this new genus, an updated key to the genera of Pleidae is provided.

Two new species and one new record of the genus Caliscelis de Laporte (Hemiptera: Fulgoroidea: Caliscelidae) from China

A checklist of the world Caliscelis fauna and a key to all Chinese species of Caliscelis are provided.

Overall, these species are rarely collected and have apparent relictual distributions. From the ecological point of view, B. bicolor, B. ravizzarum and B. illyricus seem to be more orophilic whereas B. imhofft and B. ventralis are associated tolowland rivers. These species are sensitive to the environmental perturbations and are endangered taxa, threatened with extinction. Species identifications are difficult using available morphological characters. We sequenced a fragment of the mitochondrial gene COI to better understand the systematics and biogeography of this genus and to evaluate the molecular intra- and interspecific distances. Specific boundaries, species relationships, degree of isolation and molecular similarity are also presented. The molecular data do not fully support the validity of the five species. Molecular distances between B. bicolor and B. ventralis and between B. imhofft and B. illyricus are similar to what has been previously reported for conspecific stonefly taxa. Inthis study, the results of the molecular approach are not congruent with the traditional morphological arrangement. Biogeographically, we hypothesize that a Central European stem species dispersing westward and southward diverged into two lineages, thendifferentiated on the three European main peninsulas.

A new species of the genus Oxyporus Fabricius (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Oxyporinae) from Yunnan, China

查看更多>>摘要:The genus Oxyporus Fabricius was established by Fabricius in 1775 with Staphylinus rufus Linne as the type species. Prior to this study, 114 species of the genus were known worldwide in the Palaearctic, Oriental, Nearctic and Neotropical Regions (Herman, 2001). In the subgenus Oxyporus, 37 species were hitherto known to occur in China (Bernhauer, 1933, 1938, 1943; Alekandrov, 1933, 1934; Adachi, 1939; Hayashi, 1975, 1985; Zheng, 1992, 1997, 2010; Li, 1992, 1993; Huang et al, 2005, 2006), with 30 recorded from Mainland China and 7 from Taiwan. However, only 3 species have been reported from Yunnan, China. During this study on the Oxyporus of Yunnan, we found that our specimens represent a new species. Herein, we describe Oxyporus (Oxyporus) puerius sp.->nov. and provide color images of the habitus and aedeagus.
