Three new species of Pogonognathellus (Collembola: Tomoceridae) from North America

    JOHN K. MOULTONKYUNG-HWA PARKERNEST C. BERNARD
    14页
查看更多>>摘要:Three species of Pogonognathellus Paclt are described from eastern North America: P. belmontorum n. sp. from the southern Appalachians, Alabama and Florida, P. brevifulvus n. sp. from Massachusetts and Michigan, and P. magnibrunneus n. sp. from the southern Appalachians and New York. The first two species are members of the pale/grey clade and the third is a member of the longicornis clade. The setal complexes at the apices of the third and fourth antennal segments are described.

On Coccophagoides Girault and Diaspiniphagus Silvestri (Hymenoptera: Chaleidoidea: Aphelinidae)

查看更多>>摘要:The aphelinid genus Diaspiniphagus Silvestri is considered a valid taxon, distinct from Coccophagoides Girault. Both genera are briefly diagnosed and the world species are listed. Didspiniphagus is newly recorded from India and a new species, D. decorus sp. nov., is described. The following species are transferred to Diaspiniphagus as new combinations: D. inlacertus (Girault) from CoccophagusWestwood and D. fasciativentris (Girault), D. forbesi (Dozier), D. fuscipennis (Girault), and D. pulchellus (Dozier) from Prospaltella Ashmead.

查看更多>>摘要:A new species of Tetralidia Marques-Costa & Cavichioli, 2008, Tetralidia curvipenis sp. nov., is described and illustrated. The new species can be distinguished from the other species of the genus by the following characteristics: (1) style with apical third moderately curved ventrally; (2) connective Y-shaped; (3)"aedeagus S-shaped with apical fifth abruptly curved ventrally and with pair of dorsal preapical spine-like processes, forming "V" in ventral view (4) anal tube with pair of moderately longbasiventral processes, with slightly curved and sclerotized apices, reaching posteroventral margin of py-gofer. A revised generic diagnosis and an identification key to males of the species are also provided.

Four new species of Empoasca (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Typhlocybinae: Empoascini) and one new record from China

查看更多>>摘要:Four new species of Empoasca (Empoasca Walsh) are described from China: E. (E.) dahaopingensis Qin & Liu, E. (E.) gutianensis Zhang & Liu, E. (E.) lijiangensis Liu, and E. (E.) apibicruris Liu spp. nov. In addition, E. (E.) dymarka Dwor-akowska, 1984,is recorded from China for the first time. E. (E.) apibicruris, and E. (E.) dymarka are placed in the Empoasca albipennis group with E.(E.) albipennis Dworakowsa, 1977. Habitus photos and illustrations of the male genitalia of the new species are provided.

A review of the genus Belciades Kozhanchikov, 1950 (Lepidoptera, Noctuidae, Pantheinae), with descriptions of two new species from China and Thailand. Revision of Pantheinae, contribution II

Two new species are described, Belciades cyana sp. n. from China, and B. cyanobrunnea sp. n. from China and Thailand. The adult and male and female genitalia of all species are illustrated.

查看更多>>摘要:A new genus, Longacerus gen. nov., and two new species, Longacerus girajfa sp. n. an.ol Pseudacerus sabahensis sp. n. are described from Sabah (Borneo). The lectotype is designated fox Pseudacerus furcatus Raffray, 1895. A key to genera of Mastigerinaand a key to species of the genus Pseudacerus Raffray, 1895 are given. A current taxonomic concept of the suprageneric taxa of the supertribe Clavigeritae is provided.

Taxonomic decision as a compromise: Acasis appensata (Eversmann, 1832) in Central Italy—a case of conflicting evidence between DNA barcode and morphology (Lepidoptera: Geometridae)

查看更多>>摘要:Acasis appensata (Eversmann, 1842) (Lepidoptera: Geometridae), distribujed from central and northern Europe to eastern Asia, was collected in the Mediterranean (Central Italy, Abruzzi) for the first time. Adults from this region differ significantly from nominotypical populations in external appearance and in the 5' barcode fragment of the COl gene (barcode). However, morphology of male and female genitalia falls completely within the range of variation of A. appensata, resulting in conflicting evidence with respect to its taxonomic status. Considering the striking differences in genitalia morphology between the two European species of Acasis, viz. A. appensata and A. viretata (Htibner, 1799), the population from the Abruzzi is not validated as different at species level but described as the subspecies A. appensata callaina ssp. nov. The habitus and male and female genitalia of European taxa are figured.
