    New species of Horistonotus Candéze from Brazil (ColeOptera, Elateridae, Cardiophorinae)

    查看更多>>摘要:Eight species of Horistonotus Candéze (1860), from states of Alagoas and Sergipe, are described and illustrated and a provisional identification key for all Brazilian species of this genus is provided. The described species were collected in the Caatinga, semi-desert tropical woodland, in the Northeastern Region of Brazil. The genus Horistonotus is very numerous with more than a hundred species, distributed throughout of North, Central and South America.

Generic characters are discussed and a key to species of the genus is provided. Mielkeanthidium is reported forthe first time from Argentina (TucumAn).

    查看更多>>摘要:A new species, Rhithrogena sartorii Zrelli & Boumaiza, sp. nov. is described in subimaginal, egg and nymphal stages from material collected in Northern Tunisia. This species shows affinities with members of the insularis species group. Features distinguishing the new species from other North African species, as well as from Rhithrogena insularis (from Corsica) and Rhithrogena nuragica (from Sardinia) are discussed.
