Two new closely related species of Brongniartia (Fabaceae, Faboideae) from the Sierra Madre del Sur in Guerrero, Mexico

    10页
查看更多>>摘要:Two species are described and illustrated of the state of Guerrero, Mexico: Brongniartia alvarezii and B. variabilis (Fabaceae: Faboideae). They are similar to B. funiculata and B. abbottiae but have several distinguishing characteristics. All four species have relatively small flowers and grow in the temperate forest. Brongniartia alvarezii has yellowish white petals, something very rare on the genus, while B. variabilis has pink or pale pink standard and wings.

Clarification of morphological characters and geographical distribution of Artemisia neosinensis (Asteraceae, Anthemideae), a strikingly misunderstood species from China

查看更多>>摘要:Based on observations on both herbarium specimens (including type material) and living plants in the wild, we demonstrate that the Chinese species Artemisia neosinensis (Asteraceae, Anthemideae) has been strikingly misunderstood by previous authors and its geographical range has been wrongly largely extended. All the non-type specimens cited under this species by them belong to misidentifications, whereas the specimens of true A. neosinensis have been wrongly referred to other species. This species is characterized by having 1-pinnatisect, adaxially tomentose, abaxially arachnoid-tomentose leaves with ovate-acuminate or ovate lobules of segments, and campanulate capitula with abaxially arachnoid-tomentose phyllaries. It is distributed only in western Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan, not in Gansu, Qinghai and Xizang. The syntypes of A. strongylocephala var. sinensis f. virgata, a synonym of A. neosinensis, include two taxa, A. neosinensis and A. tangutica var. tomentosa. Lectotypification is thus proposed for A. strongylocephala var. sinensis f. virgata.

Diaporthe orixae sp. nov., an endophytic species isolated from Orixa japonica in southern China

查看更多>>摘要:In this study, a novel endophytic fungus, Diaporthe orixae, and a new host record of Diaporthe caryae were obtained from a medicinal plant, Orixa japonica in southern China. Phylogenetic analyses based on a combination of ITS, tef1-??, ??-tub, cal, and his3 datasets confirmed that D. orixae is a distinct species, which is sister to D. sackstonii (BRIP 54669b). Diaporthe orixae sp. nov. differs from D. sackstonii in having larger conidiomata and smaller conidiogenous cells and alpha conidia on morphological examination. The new species and new host record are reported with taxonomic descriptions and illustrations.

Two new species of Microlicia (Melastomataceae) from Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Northeastern Brazil

查看更多>>摘要:Microlicia is a Neotropical genus with about 245 species centered in central-eastern Brazil, in areas of campo rupestre and Cerrado. The majority of species occur in the states of Minas Gerais, Bahia, and Goi??s. Based on specimens from the herbaria ALCB, HUEFS, MBM, SPF, HUFU, and US, we here describe two new species from the Chapada Diamantina region, Microlicia decumbens and Microlicia macaubensis. Microlicia decumbens is apparently endemic to Aba??ra municipality, whereas M. macaubensis is known only from Brotas de Maca??bas municipality. We provide morphological descriptions, line drawings, a distribution map, and comparisons with putative relatives for both species.

A checklist of Burmanniaceae in Eastern Indochina with a new record from Vietnam, Burmannia itoana

Nuraliev, Maxim S.Yudina, Sophia, VTruong, Ba VuongDang, Van Son...
    10页
查看更多>>摘要:An updated checklist of the family Burmanniaceae in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam is provided. The checklist comprises a single genus, Burmannia, and 15 species, of which one is fully autotrophic, six species are partially mycoheterotrophic, and eight species are fully mycoheterotrophic (non-photosynthetic). Burmannia itoana earlier known only from Japan and China is reported from Vietnam for the first time, based on our collections of this species from northern and southern parts of the country. The newly recorded species, as well as a selection of several other Vietnamese species of Burmannia, are illustrated with analytical photographs of floral structure. A key for identification of Burmannia in the countries of Eastern Indochina is presented.

Pseudobombax furadense (Bombacoideae, Malvaceae), a new species from the Caatingas Domain, Brazil

    10页
查看更多>>摘要:A new species of Pseudobombax (Bombacoideae, Malvaceae) is described from the Furados, Caatingas Domain, Brazil. The new species is morphologically similar to Pseudobombax simplicifolium but differs by the obovate, elliptic, depressed obovate or orbicular leaflets, the presence of branched trichomes on terminal branches, leaf primordia, petioles, adaxial and abaxial surfaces of leaflets, pedicel, bracteoles, and outer surface of the calyx, lepidote ovary, and the subglobose to ovoid, and spotted seeds.

Ruellia umbrosa (Ruellieae, Acanthaceae) a new and critically endagered species from Lowlands of the Goias state, Brazil

    Da Silva, Marcos Jose
    8页
查看更多>>摘要:Ruellia umbrosa, a new species from the riparian forest in the lowlands of the Goi??s state, is described and illustrated. It is similar to the South American species R. erythropus and R. epallocaulos by the decumbent stems rooting at nodes, solitary flowers in the axils of the upper leaves, and capsules with eight or more seeds, but differs in having white or slightly mauve corollas, absence of bractlets, corolla with tube and throat similar in size, calyx with 5 lobes equal or slightly subequal with dense trichomes, and larger number and size of the seeds by capsules, among other characters. It grows in an environment under strong anthropogenic pressure in a small area and, therefore, was classified as Critically Endangered.

A new species of Bulbophyllum (Orchidaceae: Epidendroideae) from Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia

    6页
查看更多>>摘要:Bulbophyllum sungaiutikense is a new orchid species from Kapuas Hulu, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia, and a member of the B. sect. Beccariana, allied to B. nabawanense. It differs from the latter in having tetragonal lateral sepals with an elongate triangular apical part, long acuminate petals, different and longer labellum with flattened base and verrucose adaxial surface. Notes on ecology and phenology, discussion of morphologically similar species, amendments to the key to B. sect. Beccariana in Borneo, illustrations and photographs are included here.

Cirsium hupingshanicum (Asteraceae, Cardueae), a new species from Hunan, China

查看更多>>摘要:Cirsium hupingshanicum Z. C. Jin & Y. S. Chen, a new species of the Asteraceae from Hunan, China, is described and illustrated. This new species is similar to C. japonicum Fisch. ex DC. and C. racemiforme Ling et C. Shih. It differs from C. japonicum in its white corolla, plant ca. 120???180 cm high and basal leaf blade elliptic. It can readily be distinguished from the latter by its white corolla, long pedicel, basal leaves shape and morphology of capitula.
