查看更多>>摘要:Twenty-three strains of Chrysosporium were isolated from soil samples in different provinces of China. Phylogenetic analyses of ITS sequence data showed that these strains comprised nine new species and four already known species. The new species could be also distinguished from related species by their morphology. The results of phylogenetic and morphological analyses confirmed the nine new species of Chrysosporium. Descriptions and illustrations of these new species are provided.
查看更多>>摘要:Southwestern China is the centre of diversity of Petrocosmea (Gesneriaceae). Here, a new species, named Petrocosmea dejiangensis, from north-eastern Guizhou, China, is described. The new species is most similar to P. martini, but it is distinguished from the latter by two dark blue-purple stripes inside the corolla tube along its entire length, the anthers shorter than the filaments, and the stigma apex rounded. Three populations comprising approximately 120 mature individuals were found at and near the type locality. This new taxon was assessed as "Data Deficient" (DD), according to IUCN standards.
查看更多>>摘要:A new species of Scutellaria (Lamiaceae), Scutellaria jishouensis G. X. Chen, L. Tan & X. M. Xiang, sp. nov from Dehang Scenic Spot, Hunan Province of China, is described and illustrated. Scutellaria jishouensis is morphologically similar to S. indica and S. calcarata, but can be easily distinguished by its creeping, spreading to erect or ascending-erect, stem with forked adventitious roots; leaves membranous, sparsely crenate or entire; racemes 1-10 cm, corolla sparsely pilose or glabrous on adaxial, glabrous inside, and flowering and fruiting in late April-June. Phylogenetic analyses, based on the nuclear ribosomal internal and external transcribed spacers, showed that S. jishouensis and S. calcarata were sister species with good support. The results of both morphological data and the phylogenetic analysis support the specific rank of S. jishouensis.
查看更多>>摘要:Some interesting Asteraceae specimens were collected from Baskil (Elazig, Turkey) with palea on its receptaculum, few and flat pappus bristles. After our examination, it was understood that the specimens belonged to Rhanteriopsis, which is a new genus record for Turkey. The specimens are morphologically similar to R. microcephala, which is endemic to Syria, and R. puberula, which is distributed in Iraq and Iran. However, the Turkish specimens differ from these species in its involucral bracts and paleae being narrower, achenes shorter, and pappus bristles 5. In this study, a detailed description of the new species, its morphological comparison with R. microcephala and R. puberula, photographs and some ecological information are given. In addition, an IUCN threat category is proposed for the new species, taking into account the existing and potential threats to its distribution.
查看更多>>摘要:Lobelia is the largest genus within the subfamily Lobelioideae of Campanulaceae, comprising 415 species and ranging from small to exuberant woody herbs. In an attempt to clarify the systematics of Lobelia, a nomenclatural and taxonomic survey of its section Rhynchopetalum for South America is here presented. This group is monophyletic and consists of ten species, whose important distinguishing characters are the robust habit, often woody and pachycaulous, terminal racemes of large sub-bilabiate flowers, with only the ventral anthers bearded, and capsules producing numerous lenticular, commonly winged, seeds with a striate-reticulate testa. Along with a synopsis of the group, an identification key, and a distribution map, we also propose seven lectotypifications (for L. fistulosa, L. glazioviana, L. hassleri, L. hilaireana, L. langeana, L. organensis, and L. uranocoma) and four new synonymizations (for Haynadia organensis var. insignis, L. imperialis, L. imperialis var.
查看更多>>摘要:A new species of Anacardiaceae, Toxicodendron oligophyllum S. L. Tang, Liang Ma & S. P. Chen, from eastern Fujian Province, China, is described and illustrated. Morphologically, the leaf of T. oligophyllum includes only 3-5 leaflets which is the least number in all known species of Toxicodendron. Additionally, the length of inflorescence equal to which of the leaf can also be used as a well diagnostic characters to distinguish the new species from the other Toxicodendron. The phylogeny of Toxicodendron using the nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrITS) and chloroplast (trnL-F) sequences was reconstructed. The result showed the new species is sister to T. sylvestre (Sieb. & Zucc.) Kuntze.
查看更多>>摘要:Blepharis eilensis (Acanthaceae) is described as new to science. Blepharis eilensis belongs to subg. Acanthodium sect. Acanthodium. It is endemic to north-eastern Somalia, in the Nogal (Nugaal) region and is presently known only from the type collection. The species is compared with similar species from NE Africa (B. forgiarinii, B. diplodonta) and preliminary information on the ecology, distribution and conservation status of this new species is provided.
查看更多>>摘要:A new fern species, Polystichum jinpingense, a member of P. subg. Haplopolystichum sect. Haplopolystichum, is described and illustrated from southeastern Yunnan, China. Polystichum jinpingense is most similar to P. subacutidens in plant size and having numerous pinnae, but the former has thinner (0.7-0.9 mm in diam.) rachis, oblong pinnae, pinna margins undulate, and pinna apex cuspidate, whereas the latter has thicker (1.1-1.4 mm in diam.) rachis, triangular pinnae, pinna margins serrate, and pinna apex acuminate. Polystichum jinpingense has an extremely narrow distribution and is classified as Critically Endangered (CR) following IUCN Red List Criteria.
