Analysis of a matrix of 12 leaf venation characters and 31 states distinguishes the taxa and can be used to detect misidentifications. Additionally, lectotypes for the names Laurus cordata, L. lingue (second-step), L. subcordata, Menestrata racemosa, Persea cordata var. microphylla, P. donnell-smithii, P. laevigata, P. lingue, P. nivea and P. rugosa are designated, and the identity of Persea microneura and the status of P. jariensis are clarified.

We therefore reduce T. daguanense to the synonymy of T. omeiense herein.

Results of the analysis are presented here as a catalogue of the exotic flora recorded for Angola. The catalogue consists of three lists: 1. 'Naturalised aliens'; 2. 'Taxa of uncertain indigenous or naturalised status or presence'; and 3. 'Cultivated, casual, and escaped taxa'. Overall, the catalogue is expanded, brought up to date, and evidence-based information is provided for each taxon included on one of the three lists. A total of 180+ taxa are recorded here as having become naturalised in Angola. This figure includes records at the rank of genus that likely include more than one species. A further 53 taxa of uncertain indigenous or naturalised status or presence are listed. Additionally, 110 taxa that are cultivated, casual, or escaped are discussed. We compare the figures presented here to those available for a selection of other countries. We show that, in terms of numbers, the non-indigenous flora of Angola is smaller than that of some near-neighbouring countries, such as Zimbabwe (to the east) and South Africa (to the south), and argue for the use of standard terminology when recording and referring to non-indigenous species, and for the preparation of herbarium vouchers when such species are encountered.

It grows at an elevation of about 840-1100 m in marly areas and on gypsiferous rocks. The new species is morphologically closely related to A. dumanii Vural & Adiguzel, but differs by its height, stem conditions, leaf shape and size, flower parts, fruit stem length, fruit size and wings, silicula shape and size, sinus length, and seed structure. Thus, it can be easily distinguished by the many differences in it morphological characters. Diagnostic characters, a detailed description, and photographs of the new taxon are provided herein. The morphology of the new species and its phylogenetic relationships, based on the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region, were discussed. In this study, a detailed description of the new species, its habitat and plant parts, a distribution map, and conservation status were given. Additionally, the pollen ornamentation and seed coat appearance of A. gypsicola were examined in detail and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs were taken. In addition, it was recommended that this species be listed as critically endangered (CR) on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List category (IUCN) due to its limited distribution.

Here, we provide a description, illustration, occurrence map, and comparison with its related morphological species. The new species share some characteristics with M. pabstii and M. sciophylla. However, M. schwackeana differs by its scandent habit, petiolate, not amplexicaul leaves, and both blade surfaces with glandular trichomes mixed with spherical glands. Furthermore, the flower of M. schwackeana has a long pedicel (4.5-5 mm long) and hypanthium and sepals covered with long glandular trichomes (ca. 1 mm long) mixed with spherical glands. This species is considered a Data Deficient (DD) taxon, following IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

Gross-morphologically this species is closely similar to P. chinensis in having 3-foliolate leaves, solitary, erect flowers, and persistent, prolonged styles in fruiting period, but differs by having light blue, whitish-blue or white (vs. violet) sepals and persistent styles 2-2.5 cm (vs. 3.5-6.5 cm) long. Pollen morphology also lends strong support for the description of the new species, with P. saxatilis having pantoporate pollen grains while its putative closest ally, P. chinensis, having tricolpate ones.

This new species is similar to V. versicolor and V. stauntonii, but it differs by its climber life form, pubescent lanceolate leaf, triangular corolla lobe, dentate corona lobe, and ovoid pollinium. Phylogenetic analysis using the nuclear (ITS) and three plastid (trnT-L, trnG and psbA-trnH) DNA sequences reveals that V. junzifengense is close to V. versicolor and V. yonakuniense.

It morphologically resembles B. rostrata, but clearly differs from the latter by its ovate to elliptic leaf blades with broadly rounded to acute apex, styles strict, broad and nearly connate at base, stigmas with 2 shallow and completely inflexed lobes, and apex of capsule subtruncate.
