Acalypha amithii is morphologically close to the Mesoamerican A. ferdinandi and the South American A. stenoloba. However, it can be distinguished from the former by number of teeth in the bracts of the pistillate flowers (13-15 vs. 7 in the new species) and from the latter by the degree of fusion of the sepals of the pistillate flowers (connate at the base vs. free in the new species). Acalypha amithii is characterized by a suffruticose habit, penninerved leaves, terminal or axillary pistillate inflorescences, sepals of the pistillate flowers completely free and ovate-lanceolate, bracts of the pistillate flowers cuneate at the base, styles glabrous and almost 12 times longer than the ovary.
查看更多>>摘要:We provide information on 143 sheets of type specimens of 39 species and infraspecific taxa of vascular plants stored in the herbarium of the National Institute of Biological Resources. The specimens were donated by Changwon National University (Prof. Hyeok-Jae Choi), Chungbuk National University (Prof. Byoung-Un Oh), Ewha Womans University (Prof. Chang-Sook Lee), Hallym University (Prof. Young-Dong Kim), Jeonbuk National University (Prof. Muyeol Kim), Korea National Arboretum, Mokwon University (Prof. Jeong Ki Sim), Sungkyunkwan University (Prof. Seung-Chul Kim), and some re-searchers at KB. The specimens included four sheets for holotypes, 46 sheets for isotypes, and 93 sheets for paratypes of three species and infraspecific taxa of pteridophytes, 21 dicotyledons, and 15 monocotyledons. Nine sheets were sourced from China and 134 sheets were sourced from Korea.

This study contributes the eighth species, found growing on decaying bamboo in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). Morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses using internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and ribosomal large subunit (LSU) gene regions placed the species within the genus Favolaschia. Comprehensive morphological descriptions, micro and macro photographs, and a phylogenetic tree showing the placement of the new species are provided. This is the second report of bioluminescent Favolaschia in China.
查看更多>>摘要:A new subspecies of Stachys cretica (Lamiaceae) from Turkey, Stachys cretica subsp. gulendamiana, is described and its relationships with allied subspecies is discussed. The new subspecies is characterized by having decumbent flowering stems. Stachys cretica subsp. gulendamiana is similar to S. cretica subsp. anatolica, but it differs mainly by its marine sandy habitat, indumentum adpressed white lanate-tomentose, flowering stems decumbent, basal leaves undulate, nutlets dull, greyish-brown. IUCN threat category, geographical distribution map and ecology of the new subspecies are also given.

It resembles the recently described A. ibrahimii but can be readily distinguished by several morphological characters including longer, much-branched scapes and paniculate inflorescence, shorter scales, shorter spikelets, shorter calyx, and pink petals, among others. Diagnostic morphological characters, a full description, a revised key to the Turkish Acantholimon species of A. sect. Staticopsis with laxly distichous spikes, and scape much longer than leaves, as well as detailed illustrations are provided. Furthermore, the IUCN Red List category of the new species is assessed as Critically Endangered (CR) due to its limited distribution and true agricultural pressure.
查看更多>>摘要:Eriocaulon pandeyana from the Idukki district in Kerala is here described as a new species of Eriocaulaceae. It closely resembles E. ramnadense but is distinct by having oblong-lanceolate, lobed, acute, hyaline involucral bracts, oblanceolate, acuminate floral bracts, 3 sub-equal male petals, 3 unequal, slightly hoary female sepals and yellow, elliptic seeds with transversely elongated or isodiametric seed coat cells. The differences between the other similar species are also discussed. Since adequate data on abundance and distribution are lacking, the new species is provisionally listed under the category Data Deficient (DD) as per IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

The new species P. sahyadrica has a densely isidiate thallus with 6-10 mm wide lobes and contains entothein and atranorin as major compounds. The material was collected from Wayanad district of Kerala state at an elevation of 750 m.
