查看更多>>摘要:As major hubs for cruise berthing and passenger transfers, cruise ports in China were developing rapidly in the yearsbefore the COVID-19 pandemic because of an ever-growing regional market. Wusongkou Cruise Port is the mostimportant port for cruise ships in China, and this study evaluated the operational performance of this port during2011e2020. To this end, two-stage network data envelopment analysis was conducted to evaluate the port's operationperformance; subsequently, the change trajectory of the port's operational efficiency during 2011e2020 was determined,and the potential reasons for the identified changes are discussed. Finally, suggestions for improving the operationalperformance of Wusongkou Cruise Port are provided.
查看更多>>摘要:Marine pilot occupational accidents during transfer to/from ships are the primary concern of the International MarinePilots’ Association (IMPA) and industry professionals. There are multiple transfer methods for marine pilots, with themost common being the pilot boat. To reach the mother ship bridge, the following stages must be safely completed: cartransfer, walking on the pier, pier to pilot boat, pilot transfer by boat, cutter to pilot ladder, mother ship freeboardclimbing, and ship deck to the bridge. Each stage has its own risk. Previous accident records and expert opinions arecommonly used to conduct a risk analysis and take preventive actions. However, the reports vary in scope and are oftencomplex, making qualitative analysis a timeintensive task. To overcome this challenge, this study aggregates 500 reportsto create a multi-source dataset describing instances of undesired events. A ML (machine learning) approach is used topredict and explain marine pilot occupational accidents. Analyzing the importance of factors distinguishing betweenaccidents, incidents, and non-compliance, we conclude that workplace factors are more dangerous than environmentalfactors. The findings of this study provide a foundation for developing a unified accident reporting system for predictingaccidents on a wider scale.
查看更多>>摘要:Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) requires a large amount of cold seawater. The traditional rigid pipe, semirigidlyfixed onto the ship bottom is not easy to install and disassemble, so the Floating Flexible Cold Water Pipe(FFCWP) flexibly connected to the ship is proposed. A small FFCWP was designed, fabricated, and successfully installedand recovered in the sea. The flexible pipe adopts commercially available fire ventilation snake pipe. The pipe wallmaterial strength must be improved in the future. Assuming that the drag coefficient Cd value is 1.5, a numericalcalculation is employed to simulate the FFCWP attitude from the action of ocean currents. Ocean currents cause thelower pipe inlet to rise. The main influencing factors on pipe design are pipe radius, ocean current speed and pipeweight per unit pipe length. Because the FFCWP ascension quite large as the ocean current becomes greater than 0.5knots, it is recommended that the grazing OTEC plant ship allow pipe drifting when generating electricity.

Governments have formulated differentcarbon policies to achieve carbon neutrality or emission reduction, in particular, the carbon tax as a policy providesgreater certainty about the potential cost to emitters. The Taiwan government is expected to implement the carbon taxpolicy in 2024 and does not rule out the inclusion of a progressive mechanism which is more effective than a singlecarbon tax in curbing high carbon emissions Recent studies have also confirmed that a high level and complete carbontax could encourage companies to invest in green technologies, which can reduce emissions while reducing internalizationcosts. In addition, scholars have proposed that the transportation process has a significant impact on carbonemissions. Therefore, in this paper, we combine with the EOQ model of the integrated supply chain under the progressivecarbon tax, transportation cost, and green technology investment, the proposed model can help decision makersdetermine the optimal order quantity and green technology investment costs to minimize total costs and carbon emissions.It is also for the government to the trade-off between the carbon tax system and economic activities. Finally,numerical results are discussed to provide managerial insights.

This paper proposes an inventory model for supply chain optimization that considers uncertain deliverylead times and defective products. Solving the model requires solving a nonlinear mixed-integer problem, whichtraditionally requires considerable time. Solutions to nondeterministic polynomial-time hard problems with highcomplexity and difficulty are often obtained using heuristic algorithms. Among these algorithms, genetic algorithmshave high efficiency and quality. Therefore, we employed a genetic algorithm to solve the proposed model.
查看更多>>摘要:In this study, the bearing capacity of a surface foundation resting on a double-layered cohesive soil profile wasinvestigated by applying a rotational mechanism and finite-difference numerical simulations. The bearing capacity factorbehaviors of a surface footing on double-layered cohesive soils can be classified and illustrated using a characteristicchart. Depending on the soil strata strength ratio and normalized layer thickness, the soil-foundation system can be in thesqueezing, factor-increasing, factor-decreasing, or constant factor zones. The results indicated that the trend of the curvesin the characteristic chart computed from the asymmetric failure mechanism was in accordance with that of the symmetricfailure mechanism of the numerical simulation. Based on the strength conditions of the upper and lower soil layers, thesoil plastic flow zone may enlarge, shrink, or even become constrained. For the analysis of the critical soil strength ratiothat causes punching shear failure, the results from the SNAME method were less conservative. Moreover, the footingroughness effect was significant in the weaker upper soil case and may have contributed to a 25 % higher bearing capacity.
查看更多>>摘要:Live-fire exercise (LFX) areas at sea threaten the safety of ships, whereas, and indiscriminately abandoned unexplodedbombs threaten the lives of fishermen. No statistical or scientific research has been conducted on the appropriate locationsfor LFX areas. Therefore, this study proposes a method for effectively arranging the LFX areas at sea that considersthe safety of passing ships and national security. First, the proposed method classifies ship tracking data collectedin the daytime based on the dawn and dusk times of the civil twilight phase. Second, the method uses a Geohashgeocoding process to identify whether an LFX area coincides with the daytime traffic area of the vessels. Finally, a gridsearch was conducted, in which the polygons of the LFX areas that required rearrangement were shifted by appropriatelysetting the search range. The methodology presented in this study can be used as a guideline for designing safe LFXareas at sea.

However, this expansion has resulted in notablesocial and environmental impacts. Consequently, it is imperative for both scholars and practitioners to comprehend theconcept of corporate sustainability transition (CST), which entails the establishment of shipping operations that effectivelybalance environmental, social, and economic considerations. Additionally, technologies that are used to facilitatethe transition process must be investigated. Several studies have been undertaken to ascertain the attributes pertainingto sustainability transition. Nevertheless, there has been a lack of sufficient focus and consideration in performing acomprehensive and valid assessment of CST attributes, particularly in terms of their causal interrelationships. In fact,this analysis has been predominantly overlooked or disregarded. Therefore, this study builds a hierarchical frameworkto address these issues using linguistic preferences. Regarding the attributes, the fuzzy Delphi method (FDM) is used toconfirm their validity. In nature, there are complex interrelationships among the attributes; hence, the fuzzy decisionmakingtrial and evaluation laboratory method (DEMATEL) is employed to visualize the interrelationships. The resultsreveal that stakeholder management, communication and cooperation are the most important influencing aspects.Research and development (R&D) promotion, environmental training, international treaties, shareholder value, andowner support are the top causal criteria that practitioners must improve to develop CST performance.
查看更多>>摘要:The study aims to investigate the effect of fish movement on the flow field in the aquaculture tank of a recirculatingwater aquaculture system. Herein, based on the NaviereStokes equations and the RNG k-e turbulence model, the flowfield in the aquaculture tank with fish movement was numerically simulated using the multiple reference frame (MRF)model and compared with the numerical simulation results of the fishless aquaculture tank. The results revealed that theoverall mean flow velocity in the tank decreased significantly when the fish swam counter-currently with a fixed trajectory,and the overall mean flow velocity increased slightly when the number of fish increased. When the same numberof fish swam counter-currently with a fixed trajectory, the effect of side-by-side distribution on the overall mean flowvelocity in the tank was slightly greater than that of the back-and-forth and top-and-bottom distributions. Under theinfluence of fish counter-current swimming, the flow field uniformity in the aquaculture tank was significantly reduced,the turbulence intensity increased, the flow velocity at the tank wall increased, and the low-flow velocity area appearedin the center of the tank. The study demonstrated the necessity of considering the impact of fish counter-currentswimming on the flow field within an aquaculture tank. This consideration is crucial when seeking to raise fish welfare,improve production operation management and optimize the structure of the aquaculture tank.
查看更多>>摘要:To study the ice resistance of ships in areas with floating ice, the Xuelong 2 icebreaker was simulated. A floating-icemodel was established using the discrete-element method, and an ice particle array was generated using MATLAB. Theeffects of ice coverage and speed on ice drag were studied From the numerical simulation results, it can be seen that thereis a certain trend in ice resistance under different ice coverage ranges, which changes with the change of speed. Bycomparing with the empirical formula and the numerical value of the ship model test, this numerical simulation resultsare relatively accurate. It also provides a reference for evaluating the ice resistance of Xuelong 2 in the floating ice area.
