查看更多>>摘要:Comparing with others, the supply chain of nuclear power plant (NPP) has its special characteristics, which not only on product safety, but also on the life cycle of supplier as well as requirement of environment, the selection of the appropriate supplier requires independent evaluation index system. For these reasons, based on establishing an evaluation index system, an integrated framework is proposed to approach the supplier selection problem in NPP supply chain systems utilizing analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and improved technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS). Then the ranking of the suppliers are determined according to their results. Finally, for application and verification, an empirical study is performed to demonstrate the integrated model and identify the suitable supplier(s).
查看更多>>摘要:The product modeling method based on UML is presented in order to solve the consistency problem of definition, process and resources in the product life-cycle, and meet the need of developing the system from various viewports. Through the definition of three-layer product model structure included "product meta-meta model layer", "product meta model layer" and the "product model layer" and its contents and their interrelation, the definition of a product modeling and constraint unity have been achieved to. The practical application reflects the validity and the feasibility of UML-based product modeling method.
查看更多>>摘要:Furniture manufacturing is known to have considerable impacts on the environment and there is a definite trend towards environmental-friendly product designs in the industry worldwide. This paper reports the results of an exploratory research on the status of eco-design in the Thai furniture industry. Two basic research questions are addressed; 1) are there any eco-design activities and, if so, to what extent and 2) what are the driving forces that drive or hinder eco-design activities. A combination of research methodologies were employed; interviewing, survey, and actually examining selected products in the market. The results show that key personnel know very little about eco-design, but they have implemented a number of eco-design methods in their products and processes in practice. The driving force for such progress seems to be not from the environmental consciousness per se but rather the demands and requirements from the customers and the markets. The legal and supporting infrastructure to promote and move eco-design forward is just emerging and still rather weak. There are, however, considerable implementation problems and obstacles due to lack of technical know-how on the part of the personnel involved. It is concluded that the Thai furniture industry is implementing number of eco-design activities without knowing much about eco-design principles and the underlying philosophy. Public awareness and consequently the market force is key to moving eco-design forward. Effective campaigns and better education on sustainable development and eco-design, together with stronger legal and supporting infrastructure, would certainly help increase eco-design activities.

As sustainable concerns appear increasingly prevalent within engineering and design developments, immense practical knowledge is being developed which advances this area further. Moreover, users are progressively aware of the importance of sustainability and are driving demand further, commercially, to develop outcomes with a sustainable label attached. This paper draws from various multi-disciplinary research and theoretical concepts to examine the social influence within sustainable technologies. From this, debate surrounding sustainability can be opened up to a more rounded and responsible perspective. Social considerations are seen in this paper as fundamental to sustainable technology, not only in being classified as sustainable but also producing effective and understandable technical solutions for users.

The students can actually use the skills and knowledge learned in "Computer Aided Engineering Graphics" course through their education and professional life. This paper describes and demonstrates how "ME-105 Computer Aided Engineering Graphics" course was offered to non-mechanical engineering students at Middle East Technical University (METU) using Web-based materials. Using the offered Web-based course model it is possible to give the course to 900 non-mechanical engineering students (450 students and 9 sections each semester) by teaching assistants. The model provides the same quality of teaching that we have in the engineering drawing course offered to 210 mechanical engineering students using the traditional classroom methods with full-lime instructors.
查看更多>>摘要:The main aim of this paper is to study the mathematical model of the single planar capacitance sensor by boundary element method. This numerical method is used to compute the solution of the partial differential equation with complex boundary conditions which was established as the model of the single planar capacitance sensor. We find out the relationship between dielectric constant of the measured object and the capacitance value of capacitance sensors. A single planar capacitance sensor, which was set its specific size, is taken as an example, numerical example shows that this method is effective. The method and results can be applied to the practice of engineering, such as measuring wood moisture content and soil moisture contant, etc.
查看更多>>摘要:An Ionic polymer metal composites (IPMC) actuated 3D swimming microrobot is presented first. Inspired by biologic fins, passive plastic fin is attached to the IPMC strip to increase the thrust. Infrared sensors are equipped for wireless control and autonomous navigation. Then propulsive efficiency analyses are carried out. From the water electrolysis influence analysis of the IPMC, the best working voltage is confirmed. Finally, a two parts IPMC actuator is presented to improve the propulsive efficiency of the microrobot after the analysis of propulsive efficiency of caudal fin.
查看更多>>摘要:The Ti-6Al-4V alloy was hydrogenated at 800℃ by thermohydrogen treatment technology. To research the influence of hydrogen contents on cutting force and cutting temperature, the turning experiments were carried out by applying uncoated WC-Co cemented carbide tool. The results show that the most decrease amplitude of main cutting force is about 11%, and the cutting temperature reduces most by 85℃ in the given conditions. Moreover, the change law of cutting force and cutting temperature is both as follows: firstly decreases and then increases with the increase of hydrogen content, and the optimum hydrogen content is 0.26%. It is considered that reasons of the change law are attributed to comprehensive effect of hydrogen contents on microstructure, flow stress, impact ductility, elastic modulus, microhardness, thermoconductivity and friction coefficient of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy.

查看更多>>摘要:A new hybrid-control structure for the compensation of the volume-delay negative effect in the mixed-gas pressure control is designed. The volume-delay mechanism is discussed. A Smith predictor is used in the primary loop of a cascade control system where the secondary loop has a negligible delay while the primary loop has a significant and variant delay. To deal with the sensitivity of Smith predictor to modeling error, the gas pipe model for the Smith predictor can be updated by measuring the gas pressure and choosing the model characteristics through a lookup table. The results show that the proposed control structure brings together the best merits of a cascade control and the Smith predictor structure, and it can provide a better performance than the traditional cascade control.
