    Dielectric and Ferroelectric Properties of (Cr,Nb)-doped Lead Zirconate Titanate Ceramics

    查看更多>>摘要:The 3 mol% Nb_2O_5 doped Pb(Zr_(0.52)Ti_(0.48))O_3 with addition of 1-3 mol% Cr_2O_3 prepared via the solid-state reaction technique have been investigated. The XRD shows that a sample is primarily in both tetragonal and rhombohedral phases coexist and the amount of rhombohedral phase decreases that is due to the donor (Nb) dopant reduces the number of oxygen vacancies and leads to a lower amount of rhombohedral phase. The maximum dielectric constant tend to decrease with increasing Cr doping concentration from 0.1 to 1 mol%. Further increase in Cr concentration, the maximum dielectric constant increase dramatically. The hysteresis loop measurements, the electrical coercivity and the remnant polarization do not show a systematic trend at low concentration of Cr doping. It is possibly due to the partial solubility of Cr doping. The observations clearly indicate the hardening behavior at higher concentration because of more solubility of Cr.

    查看更多>>摘要:Structured diffuse scattering has been observed in selected area electron diffraction patterns of PbZr_(1-x)Ti_xO_3 (PZT). This scattering is most evident in the rhombohedral (Zr-rich) phase but has also been observed for a range of compositions including in the important morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) region as well as in the tetragonal (Ti-rich) phase. Monte Carlo computer simulation has been used to show that the scattering originates from the correlation between the displacements of cations in chains running along all four of the cubic <111>c directions. The transverse polarised nature of the scattering means that the ionic shifts are also directed along <111>c. The results are difficult to reconcile with current structural models for the low temperature phases of PZT. It is conjectured that these phases must still contain significant remnants of the disorder present in the high-temperature paraelectric cubic phase.

    查看更多>>摘要:Textured PbTiO_3 (PT) ceramics were fabricated by slip casting in a high magnetic field of 12 T. The sample obtained from the powder calcined at 1100 ℃ was (100), (010), and (001)-oriented, and the orientation factor was 90 %. On the other hand, the sample obtained from the powder calcined at 900 ℃ was not oriented. Aggregability and crystallinity of powder are an important factor when textured ceramics are fabricated by slip casting in a high magnetic field.

    查看更多>>摘要:The scaling behavior of the dynamic hysteresis of ferroelectric BaTiO_3 bulk ceramics was investigated. Two sets of the scaling relation of hysteresis area <A> against frequency f and field amplitude E_0 were clearly established. Approximately, above the coercive field, the scaling took a form of <A> ∝ f~(-0.23) E_0~(0.87). On the other hand, the scaling in the form of <A> ∝ f~(-0.36)E_0~(3.64) was obtained under a sub-coercive field condition. While these scaling relations were generally comparable to previously reported ones, it was found that the f- and E_0 exponents clearly depended on E_0 and f, respectively.

    查看更多>>摘要:High-resolution Brillouin scattering technique was applied to study the dynamics of central peaks (CPs) in two relaxor ferroelectric systems, PLZT-x/65/35 ceramics and PMN-33%PT [001] single crystals, respectively. It was found that CPs appear very close to an intermediate temperature, T_d, for both type of specimens. The temperature dependence of CPs was attributed to the appearance and subsequent growth of polar nanoregions (PNRs) intrinsic to relaxor materials.

    Dielectric Properties of 0-3 Lead Magnesium Niobate Titanate (PMNT)-Ordinary Portland Cement (PC) Composites

    查看更多>>摘要:The dielectric properties of lead magnesium niobate titanate, PMNT and portland cement, PC with x(0.67PMN-0.33PT)-(1-x)(PC) (where x = 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 1.0) composites were investigated. The dielectric properties of the 0-3 PMNT-PC composites are measured as function of both room temperatures and frequency. The composites were pressed together and cured in 98%RH curing chamber for 3 days before measurements. The results indicate that the dielectric properties of the PMNT-PC composites increased with increasing PMNT content with dielectric constant, ε_r obtained for the composites with 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7PMNT with dielectric constant, ε_r values of a 136, 414 and 647 respectively.

    查看更多>>摘要:Effects of perpendicular compressive stress on the ferroelectric properties of ceramics in PZT-PZN system were investigated. The (1-x)Pb(Zr_(1/2)Ti(1/2))O_(3-x)Pb(Zn_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_3 or (1-x)PZT- (x)PZN (x = 0.1-0.5) ceramics were prepared by a conventional mixed-oxide method. The ferroelectric properties were measured under compressive stress applied perpendicular to an electric field direction at stress levels up to 90 MPa using a compressometer in conjunction with a modified Sawyer-Tower circuit. It was found that with increasing compressive stress the area of the ferroelectric hysteresis (P-E) loops, the maximum polarization (P_(max)), and the remanent polarization (P_r) decreased, while the coercive field (E_c) remained relatively constant. These results were interpreted through the domain switching, clamping of domain walls and de-poling mechanisms.

    查看更多>>摘要:Perovskite ferroelectric PNN ceramics have been obtained from oxides by sintering in air, using a two-stage process with corundum Ni_4Nb_2O_9 precursor. Under suitable firing condition, XRJD analysis revealed that the ceramics consist of 100% perovskite phase. The SEM, EDX, and XPS techniques were employed to investigate the chemical composition of the surfaces of the PNN ceramics. Fluctuation in chemical composition, precipitation of NiO and the Pb-Ni-Nb-O phase different from perovskite were found.

    查看更多>>摘要:The electrical properties of [001]-oriented morphotropic phase boundary (1-x)Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_3-xPbTiO_3 (PMN-33%PT) single crystal have investigated as a function of temperature and frequency. The ac-conductivity exhibited continuous dispersion at all temperatures and frequency range examined and was associated to the thermally activated space charge carriers and local off-centering of Ti~(4+) and Pb~(2+) ions. The variations in ferroelectric phase transition temperatures observed in the poled state were associated to the polarization fluctuations and phase co-existence.

    查看更多>>摘要:Full-dense bulk Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3 (PZT) ceramics with various grain sizes were prepared by aerosol deposition (AD) employing various firing temperature from 800 to 1200℃. It was confirmed that the Hall-Petch relationship is obeyed in AD-processed PZT ceramics over the almost whole grain size range, which is indicating that only grain size could be the determining factor of hardness in AD since density is almost constant against the grain size. As compared with conventional sintering technique, AD-processed PZT ceramics exhibited higher hardness and higher or at least equivalent electrical properties over the whole grain size range investigated, which is indicating that the piezoelectric ceramics with improved mechanical properties can be realized by AD without any sacrifice in electrical properties.
