Reporters obtained the following quote from the background information supplied by the inventors: "In many organizations, large groups of people come together t o solve problems within an area. An organization may contain large groups of peo ple, spanning different professions and different divisions, where the shared un derstanding of an area may be very low. Without a shared understanding, any work or agreement that needs to happen may be hampered by deviations from shared und erstandings. However, there might not be an awareness that there is a lack of sh ared understanding. The lack of a shared understanding may not be easy to detect and is something that might be unveiled gradually as the work progresses, which may mean that decisions must be revisited to ensure that the decisions are corr ect."

This patent application has not been assigned to a company or institution. The following quote was obtained by the news editors from the background informa tion supplied by the inventors: "A user using a parking area of a parking lot ge nerally pays parking fee to a parking service provider by a parking duration whe n he goes out the parking lot. The parking service provider installs a parking b arrier including a recognition function of a vehicle number at an entrance of th e parking lot and charges the parking fee based on difference of an entrance tim e and an exit time of the vehicle or charges the parking fee based on entrance i nformation and exit information provided manually by the user through a telephon e, an application or a website. In this case, the user should reserve a parking service with a predicted parking time irrespective of real parking time and prep ay the parking fee.

News editors obtained the following quote from the background information suppli ed by the inventors: " "Field of the Invention "The present invention relates to image processing for reducing a sampling pitch of a captured image. "Background Art "United States Patent Application Publication No. 2018/0075581 discusses a metho d for enlarging a low-resolution image to an image having the same number of pix els as the number of pixels of a highresolution image by a bicubic interpolatio n and inputting the enlarged image to a trained machine learning model, to there by generate a high-resolution enlarged image. The use of the trained machine lea rning model for image enlargement processing makes it possible to achieve image enlargement processing with higher accuracy than general methods such as a bicub ic interpolation."

Evaluating machine learning algorithms to predict lameness in dairy cattle

查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News-According to news reporting based on a preprint a bstract, our journalists obtained the following quote sourced from biorxiv.org: "Dairy cattle lameness represents one of the common concerns in intensive and co mmercial dairy farms. Lameness is characterized by gait-related behavioral chang es in cows and multiple approaches are being utilized to associate these changes with lameness conditions including data from accelerometers, and other precisio n technologies. The objective was to evaluate the use of machine learning algori thms for the identification of lameness conditions in dairy cattle. "In this study, 310 multiparous Holstein dairy cows from a herd in Northern Colo rado were affixed with a leg-based accelerometer (Icerobotics® Inc, Edinburg, Sc otland) to obtain the lying time (min/d), daily steps count (n/d), and daily cha nge (n/d). Subsequently, study cows were monitored for 4 months and cows submitt ed for claw trimming (CT) were differentiated as receiving corrective claw trimm ing (CCT) or as being diagnosed with a lameness disorder and consequent therapeu tic claw trimming (TCT) by a certified hoof trimmer. Cows not submitted to CT we re considered healthy controls.
