Names may shape facial appearance over time new study suggests

    1-2页
查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning DailyNews Daily News - A new study reveals that a person’s na me may influence their facial appearance overtime. Using human perception tests and machine learning, the research found that adults’ faces can bematched to t heir names more accurately than chance. However, this effect is not found in chi ldren’s faces, suggesting that face-name congruence develops as individuals age rather than being present from birth. This “self-fulfilling prophecy” highlights how social expectations can subtly shape physical appearance. The findings have implications for psychology, sociology, and artificial intelligence, demonstrat ing theinteraction between social factors and identity formation.
