According to news reporting from Wuhan, People's Republic of China, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "Human-robot (HR) collaboration (HRC) is an emerging research field because of the complementary advantages of humans and robots." Funders for this research include National Natural Science Foundation of China. The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Huazhong University of Science and Technology: "An HRC framework for robotic assembly based on impedance control is proposed in this paper. In the HRC framework, the human is the decision maker, the robot acts as the executor, while the assembly environment provides constraints. The robot is the main executor to perform the assembly action, which has the position control, drag and drop, positive impedance control, and negative impedance control modes. To reveal the characteristics of the HRC framework, the switch condition map of different control modes and the stability analysis of the HR coupled system are discussed. In the end, HRC assembly experiments are conducted, where the HRC assembly task can be accomplished when the assembling tolerance is 0.08 mm or with the interference fit."

According to news reporting originating in Atlanta, Georgia, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "One potential future for the next generation of smart grids is the use of decentralized optimization algorithms and secured communications for coordinating renewable generation (e.g., wind/solar), dispatchable devices (e.g., coal/gas/nuclear generations), demand response, battery & storage facilities, and topology optimization. The Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) has been widely used in the community to address such decentralized optimization problems and, in particular, the AC Optimal Power Flow (AC-OPF)." Financial support for this research came from National Science Foundation (NSF).

According to news reporting originating from Harbin, People's Republic of China, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "The addition of biochar resulted in a 31.5 % to 44.6 % increase in decolorization efficiency and favorable decolorization stability. Biochar promoted extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) secretion, especially humic-like and fulvic-like substances." Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from the Harbin Institute of Technology, "Additionally, biochar enhanced the electron transfer capacity of anaerobic sludge and facilitated surface attachment of microbial cells. 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis indicated that biochar reduced microbial species diversity, enriching fermentative bacteria such as Trichococcus. Finally, a machine learning model was employed to establish a predictive model for biochar characteristics and decolorization efficiency. Biochar electrical conductivity, H/C ratio, and O/C ratio had the most significant impact on RR2 anaerobic decolorization efficiency."

According to news originating from the University Gadjah Mada by NewsRx editors, the research stated, "The land-conversion of rice fields can reduce rice production and negatively impact food security. Consequently, monitoring is essential to prevent the loss of productive agricultural land." The news journalists obtained a quote from the research from University Gadjah Mada: "This study uses a combination of Sentinel-2 MSI, Sentinel-1 SAR, along with SRTM (elevation and slope data) to monitor rice fields land-conversion. NDVI, NDBI and NDWI indices are transformed from the annual median composite Sentinel-2 MSI images used to identify different rice fields with another object. A monthly median composite of SAR images from Sentinel-1 data are used to identify cropping patterns of rice fields in the inundation phase. The classification is performed by using the Random Forest machine learning algorithm in the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Random Forest classification is run using 1000 trees, with a 70:30 ratio of training and testing data from sample features extracted by visual interpretation of high resolution Google Earth imagery. In this study, Random Forest classification is effective in computing a high amount of multi-temporal and multi-sensory data to map rice-field land conversion with an accuracy rate of 96.16% (2021) and 95.95% (2017) for mapping paddy fields. From the multitemporal rice field maps in 2017-2021, a conversion of 826.66 hectares of rice-fields to non-rice fields was identified."

According to news originating from Himachal Prades, India, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare field is gaining popularity. However, it also raises some concerns related to privacy and ethical aspects that require the development of a responsible AI framework." Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, "The principle of responsible AI states that artificial intelligence-based systems should be considered a part of composite societal and technological systems. This study attempts to establish whether AI risks in digital healthcare are positively associated with responsible AI. The moderating effect of perceived trust and perceived privacy risks is also examined. The theoretical model was based on perceived risk theory. Perceived risk theory is important in the context of this study, as risks related to uneasiness and uncertainty can be expected in the development of responsible AI due to the volatile nature of intelligent applications."
