According to news reportingoriginating from London, United Kingdom, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Over the past 10years, artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the fastest-growing sectors in healthcare.”The news editors obtained a quote from the research from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS FoundationTrust: “There are now numerous new technologies designed to cut costs and improve diagnoses andtreatment pathways. However, there is significant scepticism amongst National Health Service (NHS) staffregarding the usefulness of AI and it’s cost to the NHS. This has likely resulted in underuse and slowadoption of software that may revolutionize our healthcare system and ensure its continued survival andeffectiveness.”

According to news reportingout of Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “The impacts of naturalhazards on urban areas are becoming more severe and frequent. As a leading theory of resilient cities on an international level, ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction (Eco-DRR) is a crucial approach for disasterrisk reduction (DRR) and urban resilience.”

Autonomous or semiautonomous vehicles such as mobile robots oraerial vehicles (e.g., drones) may be equipped with one or more vision sensors that are operable to acquiredigital images of plants from various spatial and/or temporal perspectives. For example, a wheeled robotequipped with camera(s) on its underbelly may be navigated along a row of crops so that its camera(s)can be operated to capture digital images of the crops, e.g., at a particular frequency or sample rate, ondemand, etc.

Typically, these performance-enhancing features include a substance deposited on the glass assembly to add additionalfunctionality to the glass assembly and/or improve the aesthetic appearance of the glass assembly. Examplesof performance-enhancing features include conductive features (such as heating grids or antennas), opaqueboundary features (such as black bands or optical sensor boundaries), or other functional coatings (such asanti-reflective coatings, IR transparent coatings, hydrophobic coatings, oleophobic coatings, or oleophiliccoatings). Often, performance-enhancing features are formed by depositing a substance (such as a mixtureof ceramic frit and other substances, such as pigments or conductive particles) onto a flat glass substrateand subsequently firing the glass substrate at temperatures in excess of 500 degrees Celsius to fuse thesubstance into the glass. The glass substrate including the fused substance is typically fired at temperaturesin excess of 600 degrees Celsius to bend the substrate into a desired shape. Problematically, when glassassemblies including these substances are fired at these high temperatures, the portion of the glass assemblyincluding the substance absorbs heat differently than the rest of the glass assembly which does not includethe substance. For example, the portion of the glass assembly including the substance is at a temperatureof 650 degrees Celsius during firing, while the rest of the glass assembly (not including the substance) is ata temperature of 640 degrees Celsius during firing. Accordingly, the portion of the glass assembly includingthe substance will have a softness that is different than the softness of the rest of the glass assembly whichdoes not include the substance. The different softness of the portion of the glass assembly including thesubstance and the softness of the rest of the glass assembly causes each portion of the glass assemblyto deform differently, thereby causing significant optical distortion of the glass assembly and affecting the strength of the glass assembly. This optical distortion has a particularly adverse effect on the performanceof optical sensors used for semi-autonomous or autonomous driving, including cameras and LIDAR sensors.
