查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – Fresh data on artificial intelligence are presented in a new report. According to news reporting from Kokushikan Unive rsity by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “This study entails an examination and comparison of features observed in an accelerometer signal obtained from fl oating-scrap detection during stamping with those obtained using the ‘center-of- gravity’ method, which is conventionally used for anomaly detection via machine learning. The samples are detected using the Mahalanobis-Taguchi system.” The news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Kokushikan Universi ty: “If using the center-of-gravity method, the unit space that contains normal samples without scraps cannot be separated from the error samples. Based on an e stimated threshold for detecting all the error samples, the falsepositive rate of the abovementioned method is 0.9 %. In this study, a suitable th reshold that allows the system to detect 100 % of the error sample s (and no normal samples) is estimated using six features. Detection using the s ix suggested features is more effective than that using only three features asso ciated with the downward journey of the press slide. Features selected from two different events (i.e., the downward and upward journeys of the press slide) may result in more effective detections than features selected from only one event (i.e., the downward journey). To confirm the effect of tool wear, six experiment s based on normal samples are conducted after all error samples are created.”

According to news originating from Maharashtra, India, by NewsRx cor respondents, research stated, “The Excess Noise Factor (ENF) of a Photomultiplie r Tube (PMT) is basically the additional noise introduced because of the statist ical nature of electron multiplication inside PMT. In the field of Very High Ene rgy (VHE) gamma -ray astronomy, PMT is used as a Cherenkov photon detector.” Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Bhabha Atomic Resea rch Centre, “Hence, the noise of PMT plays an important role in estimating the e nergy of VHE gamma rays. Conventionally, estimation of ENF of PMT requires a ver y low -intensity, tunable light source experiment in a lab where no external lig ht background interferes.”

According to news reporting originating fr om Beijing, People’s Republic of China, by NewsRx correspondents, research state d, “Whispering gallery mode (WGM) microcavities are excellent platforms for ultr a-sensitive sensing due to high-quality factor and small mode volume.” The news editors obtained a quote from the research from Beijing University of P osts and Telecommunications: “However, the conventional sensing method by tracki ng single-mode changes is difficult to fully utilize the sensing information, wh ich limits the measurement precision and dynamical range. Here, we demonstrate a high-precision temperature sensor based on the multimode sensing method in a pa ckaged microbubble resonator (PMBR). Remarkably, a low-cost broadband spectrum s ource is used as probe light to provide more sensing modes for high-precision me asurement. Empowered by a machine learning method, the multimode spectral inform ation are fully utilized, and the true temperature is precisely readout with mea n-squared error (MSE) of 0.0138. The detection limit is lower three times than s ingle-mode sensing method, capable of reaching 0.117 °C. In addition, the correl ation coefficient (R2) between predictions and truth is as high as 0.9996 within the measurement range of 25-45 °C.”

According to news reporting originating from Zuric h, Switzerland, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Synthetic computed t omography (sCT) generated from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can serve as a s ubstitute for planning CT in radiation therapy (RT), thereby removing registrati on uncertainties associated with multi-modality imaging pairing, reducing costs and patient radiation exposure. CE/FDA-approved sCT solutions are nowadays avail able for pelvis, brain, and head and neck, while more complex deep learning (DL) algorithms are under investigation for other anatomic sites.” Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from University Hospital Zur ich, “The main challenge in achieving a widespread clinical implementation of sC T lies in the absence of consensus on sCT commissioning and quality assurance (Q A), resulting in variation of sCT approaches across different hospitals. To addr ess this issue, a group of experts gathered at the ESTRO Physics Workshop 2022 t o discuss the integration of sCT solutions into clinics and report the process a nd its outcomes.”
