Financial supporters for this research include National Natural Science Foundati on of China. The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Beihang University: " Most of the current multifunctional sensors rely on multiple materials to simult aneously detect different physical stimuli. Here, we demonstrate the large piezo -pyroelectric effect in ferroelectric Pb(Mg [ [1/3] ] Nb [ [2/3] ] )O [ [3] ] -PbTiO [ [3] ] (PMN-PT) single crystals for simultan eous pressure and temperature sensing. The outstanding piezoelectric and pyroele ctric properties of PMN-PT result in rapid response speed and high sensitivity, with values of 46 ms and 28.4 nA kPa-1 for pressure sensing, and 1.98 s and 94.66 nC °C-1 for temperature detection, respectively. By leveraging the distinct differences in the response speed of piezoelectric and pyroelectric responses, the piezo-py roelectric effect of PMN-PT can effectively detect pressure and temperature from mixed-force thermal stimuli, which enables a robotic hand for stimuli classific ation."

According to news originating from Chaoyang Un iversity of Technology by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "This study ai ms to evaluate leg movement by integrating gait analysis with surface electromyo graphy (sEMG) and accelerometer (ACC) data from the lower limbs." Funders for this research include National Science And Technology Council, Taiwa n. Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Chaoyang University o f Technology: "We employed a wireless, self-made, and multi-channel measurement system in combination with commercial GaitUp Physilog®5 shoe-worn inertial sensors to record the walking patterns and muscle activati ons of 17 participants. This approach generated a comprehensive dataset comprisi ng 1452 samples. To accurately predict gait parameters, a machine learning model was developed using features extracted from the sEMG signals of thigh and calf muscles, and ACCs from both legs. The study utilized evaluation metrics includin g accuracy (R2), Pearson correlation coefficient (PCC), root mean squared error (RMSE), mean a bsolute percentage error (MAPE), mean squared error (MSE), and mean absolute err or (MAE) to evaluate the performance of the proposed model. The results highligh ted the superiority of the CatBoost model over alternatives like XGBoost and Dec ision Trees. The CatBoost's average PCCs for 17 temporospatial gait parameters o f the left and right legs are 0.878 ± 0.169 and 0.921 ± 0.047, respectively, wit h MSE of 7.65, RMSE of 1.48, MAE of 1.00, MAPE of 0.03, and Accuracy (R2-Score) of 0.91."

According to news originating from Vasteras, Sweden, by N ewsRx correspondents, research stated, "As the demand for electricity, electrifi cation, and renewable energy rises, accurate forecasting and flexible energy man agement become imperative." Financial supporters for this research include Indtech. Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Malardalen University : "Distribution network operators face capacity limits set by regional grids, ri sking economic penalties if exceeded. This study examined data-driven approaches of load forecasting to address these challenges on a city scale through a use c ase study of Eskilstuna, Sweden. Multiple Linear Regression was used to model el ectric load data, identifying key calendar and meteorological variables through a rolling origin validation process, using three years of historical data. Despi te its low cost, Multiple Linear Regression outperforms the more expensive non-l inear Light Gradient Boosting Machine, and both outperform the "weekly Naive" be nchmark with a relative Root Mean Square Errors of 32-34% and 39-4 0%, respectively. Best-practice hyperparameter settings were derive d, and they emphasize frequent re-training, maximizing the training data size, a nd setting a lag size larger than or equal to the forecast horizon for improved accuracy. Combining both models into an ensemble could the enhance accuracy."

According to news reporting originating from Athens, Gree ce, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Kalamata is a smart city located in southeastern Greece in the Mediterranean basin and it is the capital of the Messenia regional unit." Our news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from University of We st Attica: "It is known for the famous Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Kal amata olive oil produced mainly from the Koroneiki olive variety. The PDO Kalama ta olive oil, established by Council regulation (EC) No 510/2006, owes its quali ty and special characteristics to the geographical environment, olive tree varie ty, and human factor. The PDO Kalamata olive oil is produced exclusively in the regional unit of Messenia, being the main profit of local farmers. However, soil chemical composition, microclimates, and agronomic factors are changed within t he Messenia spatial area leading to differentiation of PDO Kalamata olive oil ch aracteristic. In this paper, we use statistical machine learning algorithms to d etermine the geographical origin of Kalamata olive oil at PDO level based on syn chronous excitationemission fluorescence spectroscopy of olive oils. Evaluation s of the statistical models are promising for differentiating the origin of PDO Kalamata olive oil with high values of prediction accuracy thus enabling compani es that process and bottle kalamata olive oil to choose olive oil from a specifi c region of Messenia that fulfills certain characteristics."
