According to news reporting originating from the Univer sitas Negeri Yogyakarta by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “This researc h aims to identify ethical-philosophical issues arising from AI technology’s pre sence in the academic world and identify the impact of AI’s presence in the acad emic world on humanity’s future as global citizens. This research is important t o carry out because of the widespread use of artificial intelligence technology in education, which indirectly exacerbates the problems faced by humans as globa l citizens.” Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta: “This research serves as a model for investigating philosophical iss ues within the field. This type of research is often referred to as library rese arch. The research process consists of three stages: data collection, data class ification, and data analysis. The methodical elements used are description, lang uage analysis, analytics, synthetics, and interpretation. The research results s how: 1) The main ethical and philosophical problems that arise from AI’s presenc e in the academic world are the crisis of human autonomy, the crisis of academic honesty, and the crisis of responsibility. 2) The presence of AI in the academi c world impacts the future of humans as global citizens by causing a crisis of a cademic honesty.”

New Machine Learning Findings Has Been Reported by Investigators at University o f Bordeaux (Predicting Compressed Earth Blocks Compressive Strength By Means of Machine Learning Models)

    116-117页
查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – Fresh data on Machine Learning are pre sented in a new report. According to news reporting from Talence, France, by New sRx journalists, research stated, “Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB) are an interest ing alternative to conventional masonry units. They are unfired and provide a th ermal comfort in the constructions.” The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from the University o f Bordeaux, “However, their compressive strength needs to be assessed to ensure a mechanical stability. The latter depends on the soil variability, as well as s everal manufacturing parameters such as water content, compaction pressure, stab ilizer type and proportion. This is challenging as it requires time and effort t o adapt the parameters to achieve satisfactory results. In this study, machine l earning classification models were trained using historical data for predicting CEB compressive strength. Voting Classifier (VC) provided the highest performanc e with an accuracy of 78 %. SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) we re used to identify and prioritize the features in the model’s decision-making p rocess. The compaction pressure and soil granularity were the most decisive para meters.”

Stanford University Researcher Details New Studies and Findings in the Area of R obotics (Foundation models in robotics: Applications, challenges, and the future )

    117-117页
查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – Researchers detail new data in robotic s. According to news originating from Stanford, California, by NewsRx correspond ents, research stated, “We survey applications of pretrained foundation models i n robotics.” Funders for this research include Directorate For Engineering; Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency; Office of Naval Research; Asee E-fellows; Nsf Graduate Research Fellowship. The news journalists obtained a quote from the research from Stanford University : “Traditional deep learning models in robotics are trained on small datasets ta ilored for specific tasks, which limits their adaptability across diverse applic ations. In contrast, foundation models pretrained on internet-scale data appear to have superior generalization capabilities, and in some instances display an e mergent ability to find zero-shot solutions to problems that are not present in the training data. Foundation models may hold the potential to enhance various c omponents of the robot autonomy stack, from perception to decisionmaking and co ntrol. For example, large language models can generate code or provide common se nse reasoning, while vision-language models enable open-vocabulary visual recogn ition. However, significant open research challenges remain, particularly around the scarcity of robot-relevant training data, safety guarantees and uncertainty quantification, and real-time execution. In this survey, we study recent papers that have used or built foundation models to solve robotics problems.”

Studies from University of Quebec in Outaouais in the Area of Machine Learning D escribed (Optimizable Ensemble Regression for Arousal and Valence Predictions fr om Visual Features)

    118-118页
查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – New research on artificial intelligenc e is the subject of a new report. According to news reporting originating from G atineau, Canada, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “The cognitive state of a person can be categorized using the Circumplex model of emotional states, a continuous model of two dimensions: arousal and valence. We exploit the Remote Collaborative and Affective Interactions (RECOLA) database, which includes audi o, video, and physiological recordings of interactions between human participant s to predict arousal and valance values using machine learning techniques.” Our news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from University of Qu ebec in Outaouais: “To allow learners to focus on the most relevant data, featur es are extracted from raw data. Such features can be predesigned or learned. Lea rned features are automatically learned and utilized by deep learning solutions. Predesigned features are calculated before machine learning and inputted into t he learner. Our previous work on video recordings focused on learned features. I n this paper, we expand our work onto predesigned visual features, extracted fro m video recordings. We process these features by applying time delay and sequenc ing, arousal/valence labelling, and shuffling and splitting. We then train and t est regressors to predict arousal and valence values.”

Studies from Kongju National University Describe New Findings in Machine Learnin g (Predicting Vase Life of Cut Lisianthus Based on Biomass-Related Characteristi cs Using AutoML)

    119-120页
查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News – Investigators publish new report on ar tificial intelligence. According to news reporting out of Yesan, South Korea, by NewsRx editors, research stated, “Lisianthus, a globally popular ornamental pla nt, has a variable vase life (5-28 days).” Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Kongju National Unive rsity: “This study investigated biomass-related characteristics of four cultivar s grown in soil or hydroponic cultivation with different treatment timings (vege tative and reproductive stage) and concentrations (0, 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 mM) of s alicylic acid (SA) in order to explain vase life. The results show that the SA t reatment effects varied depending on cultivar, SA treatment timing, concentratio n, and cultivation method. Principle component analysis revealed that Blue Picot e cultivar cultivated hydroponically with 0.5 mM SA at the reproductive stage ha d the longest vase life. Furthermore, vase life demonstrated a high positive cor relation with dry weight, SPAD, Mg content, and flowering day. We developed a mo del using automated machine learning algorithms to estimate postharvest vase lif e, based on biomass-related characteristics measured during the pre-harvest peri od. Similar to the PCA results, this model also identified dry weight as the mos t influential predictor of vase life.”
