According to news originatingfrom Okayama, Japan, by NewsRx e ditors, the research stated, "Machine learning technologies haveimproved the ac curacy of speech recognition systems, and devices using those systems, such as s martspeakers and AI assistants, are now in wide use."The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Okayama University: " However, speechrecognition systems have security vulnerabilities. In particular , a known machine learning vulnerabilitycalled audio adversarial examples (AAEs ), which causes misrecognition in speech recognition systems, has become a probl em. We propose a scheme for using speech processing to protect speech recognitio nsystems from AAEs, preventing misrecognitions by slight processing of input sp eech that does not affectthe recognition of normal speech. We use two kinds of processing: speed and frequency."

According to news reportingoriginating from the Univer sity of Greenwich by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "The rapidexpansio n of artificial intelligence (AI) across various fields has significantly impact ed how individualsconstruct and present their identities, particularly on socia l media."The news journalists obtained a quote from the research from University of Green wich: "This briefcommunication explains the concept of digital twinning within the public sphere, where AI-generated imagescreate virtual twins. We examine th e phenomenon of attachment to AI-generated self-image, proposingthat a perceive d sense of emptiness predicts attachment to AI-generated self-image. Using the e mptyself-theory as a theoretical foundation, we argue that individuals experien cing feelings of emptiness aremore likely to form deep emotional bonds with the ir AI-generated self-image. They may find solace byassociating their sense of e mptiness with AI-generated self-images, similar to idealised images in advertising. This attachment can manifest as either subjective, where users believe the A I-generated image trulyrepresents them, or objective, where the image is seen a s a possession. In future research, it wouldbe valuable to investigate the vari ous factors that contribute to an individual's inclination to form anattachment to AI-generated self-images."

According to news reporting from Shanghai, People's Rep ublic of China, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "This study provides an alternative theoretical approach to analyse the mechanical behaviour of tunnels excavated in time-dependent geomaterials, considering the sequential excavation of tunnels and installation of rockbolts and elastic liner. In the theoretical a nalyses, the Bolted Rock Mass (BRM) is modelled as a homogeneousmaterial but wi th higher stiffness."Funders for this research include National Natural Science Foundation of China ( NSFC), State KeyLaboratory of Disaster Reduction in Civil Engineering.

According to news reportingout of Tokyo, Japan, by NewsRx edito rs, research stated, "Uncrewed aircraft systems and advanced airmobility are as sociated with uncertain conditions, such as wind prediction errors, and they may deviatefrom dedicated airspaces referred to as corridors."Financial supporters for this research include Japan Society For The Promotion o f Science. Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Japan Aerospace Explora tion Agency(JAXA): "However, further studies on these aspects are required. Thi s study focuses on the covariance control for a stochastic discrete-time linear system under correlated uncertainties. A covariance controlproblem with chance constraints can be formulated as a convex-programming problem. Numerical simulations of uncrewed aircraft systems path planning can be used to compare two contr ol laws: covariancecontrol laws that consider correlated and noncorrelated nois e. Numerical simulations were conducted toverify that the covariance control la w considering correlated noise generates a trajectory that appropriatelysatisfi es the constraints. Consequently, the effect of considering correlated noise in the covariance controllaw was clarified."

According to news originatingfrom the University of Ca lifornia by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "In response to increasingf lood risks driven by the climate crisis, urban areas require advanced forecastin g and informed decisionmakingto support sustainable development. This study se eks to improve the reliability of reservoir-basedflood forecasting and ensure a dequate lead time for effective response measures."The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from University of Ca lifornia: "Themain objectives are to predict hourly downstream flood discharge at a reference point, compare dischargepredictions from a single reservoir with a four-hour lead time against those from three reservoirs with aseven-hour lea d time, and evaluate the accuracy of data-driven approaches. The study takes pla ce inthe Han River Basin, located in Seoul, South Korea. Approaches include two non-deep learning (NDL)(random forest (RF), support vector regression (SVR)) a nd two deep learning (DL) (long short-termmemory (LSTM), gated recurrent unit ( GRU)). Scenario 1 incorporates data from three reservoirs, whileScenario 2 focu ses solely on Paldang reservoir. Results show that RF performed 4.03% (in R 2) better than SVR, while GRU performed 4.69% (in R 2) bette r than LSTM in Scenario 1. In Scenario 2, none ofthe models showed any outstand ing performance."

Acc ording to news reporting originating fromShanghai, People's Republic of China, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Substation inspectionrobots often e ncounter complex environments, making the rapid identification of accessible pat hs crucial."Our news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Shanghai Polytec hnic University:"Traditional global path planning methods for substation inspec tion robots are often characterized byshortcomings, such as prolonged execution times and substantial memory consumption. To address theseissues, this paper i ntroduces a novel strategy that integrates an improved jump point search (JPS) algorithm with the dynamic window algorithm (DWA). To mitigate the slow search sp eed of the traditionalJPS algorithm, this study first proposes a bidirectional jump-point search technique. Additionally, anadaptive end-search mechanism is i ntroduced to address the potential issue of non-overlapping jump pointsduring t he bidirectional search process. Second, to further enhance the reliability of t he jump-point searchalgorithm, the search range is expanded from the original 8 domains to 16 domains. Additionally, a novelobstacle avoidance strategy and a revised cost function are proposed."
