    查看更多>>摘要:We report the charge-changing cross sections(σcc)of 24 p-shell nuclides on both hydrogen and carbon at about 900A MeV,of which 8 9Li,10-12Be,10,14,15B,14,15,17-22N and 16O on hydrogen and 8,9Li on carbon are for the first time.Benefiting from the data set,we found a new and robust relationship between the scal-ing factor of the Glauber model calculations and the separation energies of the nuclei of interest on both targets.This allows us to deduce proton radii(Rp)for the first time from the cross sections on hydrogen.Nearly identical Rp values are deduced from both target data for the neutron-rich carbon isotopes;how-ever,the Rp from the hydrogen target is systematically smaller in the neutron-rich nitrogen isotopes.This calls for further experimental and theoretical investigations.

    Observation of an acoustic topological Euler insulator with meronic waves

    查看更多>>摘要:Topological band theory has conventionally been concerned with the topology of bands around a single gap.Only recently non-Abelian topologies that thrive on involving multiple gaps were studied,unveiling a new horizon in topological physics beyond the conventional paradigm.Here,we report on the first experimental realization of a topological Euler insulator phase with unique meronic characterization in an acoustic metamaterial.We demonstrate that this topological phase has several nontrivial features:First,the system cannot be described by conventional topological band theory,but has a nontrivial Euler class that captures the unconventional geometry of the Bloch bands in the Brillouin zone.Second,we uncover in theory and probe in experiments a meronic configuration of the bulk Bloch states for the first time.Third,using a detailed symmetry analysis,we show that the topological Euler insulator evolves from a non-Abelian topological semimetal phase via.the annihilation of Dirac points in pairs in one of the band gaps.With these nontrivial properties,we establish concretely an unconventional bulk-edge correspondence which is confirmed by directly measuring the edge states via.pump-probe techniques.Our work thus unveils a nontrivial topological Euler insulator phase with a unique meronic pattern and paves the way as a platform for non-Abelian topological phenomena.

    查看更多>>摘要:Bound states in the continuum(BICs)are spatially localized states with energy embedded in the contin-uum spectrum of extended states.The combination of BICs physics and nontrivial band topology theory givs rise to topological BICs,which are robust against disorders and meanwhile,the merit of conventional BICs is attracting wide attention recently.Here,we report valley edge states as topological BICs,which appear at the domain wall between two distinct valley topological phases.The robustness of such BICs is demonstrated.The simulations and experiments show great agreement.Our findings of valley related topological BICs shed light on both BICs and valley physics,and may foster innovative applications of topological acoustic devices.

    Pseudomagnetic suppression of non-Hermitian skin effect

    查看更多>>摘要:It has recently been shown that the non-Hermitian skin effect can be suppressed by magnetic fields.In this work,using a two-dimensional tight-binding lattice,we demonstrate that a pseudomagnetic field can also lead to the suppression of the non-Hermitian skin effect.With an increasing pseudomagnetic field,the skin modes are found to be pushed into the bulk,accompanied by the reduction of skin topo-logical area and the restoration of Landau level energies.Our results provide a time-reversal invariant route to localization control and could be useful in various classical wave devices that are able to host the non-Hermitian skin effect but inert to magnetic fields.
