    Emissions of volatile organic compounds and carbonyl compounds from residential coal combustion in China

    查看更多>>摘要:Emissions of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)and carbonyls from residential coal combustion of five coals with different maturities were studied in a simulated room.The coals were burned in form of honeycomb briquettes in a domestic coal stove,one of the most common fuel/stove combinations in China.Through a dilution system,VOCs and carbonyls samples were collected by canisters and silica-gel cartridges and analyzed by gas chromatography and mass spectrum(GC/MS)and high performance liquid chromatography/ultraviolet(HPLC/UV),respectively.The results show that the bituminous coals with medium volatile matter content produce the highest emissions while the anthracite yields the lowest.Among the identified carbonyls from the coal smoke,the aromatic compounds(benzaldehyde,2,5-dimethylbenzaldehyde and p-tolualdehyde,m/o-tolualdehyde,benzene,m,p-xylene and trimethyl-benzene)were relatively abundant,which might be due to the molecular structure of the coal.For formaldehyde,aromatic carbonyls and aliphatic alkanes,their concentrations increase up to the maximum values and then decrease with increasing coal maturity.The total carbonyls and VOCs have the same tendency,which Was observed for the emission factors of organic carbon(OC),elemental carbon(EC),particulate matter(PM)and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)detected in the series study.

    Optical transition and carrier relaxation in self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots with InAlAs and InGaAs combination cap layer by resonant excitation

    查看更多>>摘要:The photoluminescence(PL)spectra of self-assembled InAs/GaAs quantum dots(QDs)with InAlAs/InGaAs combination cap layer grown by molecular beam epitaxy are studied under different excitation conditions.The intrinsic optical properties of InAs QDs are investigated under resonant excitation condition.A longitudinal optical(LO)phononassisted peak can be well resolved under Eex<EgGaAs,which give evidence that the phonon-related process is dominated for carrier relaxation in InAs QDs with InAlAs/InGaAs combination cap layer when they are under resonant excitation condition.A rate equation model is established to interpret the difference of thermal activation energy(Ea).The Ea measured under Eex<EgGaAs,can exactly describe the intrinsic physical mechanism of temperature-induced quenching in InAs QDs,because it can be irrespective of the barrier materials.This result will benefit to validating the parameters of quantum dots infrared photodetector(QDIP)in sequent procedure of device fabrication.

    Degradation characteristic of 4-bromdiphenyl ether in mixed solutions by electron beam irradiation

    查看更多>>摘要:The degradation characteristic of 4-bromdiphenyl ether(BDE-4)was investigated in different solutions.The study indicates that the process of direct degradation of this compound is dependent upon the bromine and the ether bond connected to diphenyl by electron beam.Laser flash photolysis was employed to determine the degradation of each species(cationic,neutral,and anionic).From these data,intermediate products of BDE-4 degradation were shown for direct irradiationdegradation.The neutral radical Was formed during the photolysis of these compounds.For all the compounds,diphenyl ether and hydroxybiphenyl were observed as common products.Reaction of the BDE-4 under electron beam was debromide.The debromide rate of BDE-4 at pH=5.5 is somewhat lower than that of BDE-4 at pH=10.0.The decomposition rate for BDE-4 is 99.8%at pH=10.0 on the dose of 14 kGy.BDE-4 from its radical could provide bromine ion into water and the cation radical of BDE-4 formed quickly recombine with hydrogen radical and formed phenyl ether.

    查看更多>>摘要:Urban wastewater treatment techniques could not be applied to improve the pollutant removal efficiency,due to its characteristics of closed and quiescent conditions of the static lake water.In this study,natural zeolite and coal cinder were chosen as filler compounds of the ecological filter.Static and dynamic experiments were carried out to study the remediation efficiency.Experimental data show that removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen(NH4+-N)reaches 85%in both static and dynamic patterns and its removal efficiency reaches 97%when the recycling period is 1 h in dynamic condition.The maximum removal efficiency of nitrite nitrogen(NO2--N)reached 98%,and the removal efficiency of total nitrogen(TN)is a maximum of 84%.The final effluent concentration of total phosphorus(TP)is 0.079 mg/L.Effluent recycling could improve the nutrient(N,P)removal efficiently.Dissolved oxygen(DO)concentration could remain high with the water cycling.The filter works efficiently on regulating pH to the standard level of healthy water.

    查看更多>>摘要:This study is concerned with the effects of di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate(DEHP)on two kinds of duckweeds(Spirodela polyrhiza and Lemna minor).The results indicate that DEHP has aquatic toxicity to Spirodela polyrhiza at 0.4 mg/L and to Lemna minor at over 0.1 mg/L by changing their physiologic-biochemical characteristics.The contents of duckweed chlorophyll and soluble protein decrease with increasing DEHP concentration after 7 d of exposure.DEHP shows the stimulating role in catalase(CAT)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)systems at relative low levels.At 0.01 mg/L and 0.005 mg/L,SOD activities of Spirodela polyrhiza and Lemna minor reach their peak values respectively,while CAT activity reaches its maximum value at 0.05 mg/L and 0.01 mg/L.When DEHP levels are too high,the protection enzyme system would be destroyed and plant growth is inhibited.The analysis of malondialdehyde(MDA)and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy manifest that DEHP could affect the tested duckweeds by destroying its cell membranes,and Spirodela polyrhiza is more resistant to DEHP exposure than Lemna minor.

    查看更多>>摘要:Poly(N-isopropylacrytamide)(PNIPAAm)/carboxymethylated chitosan(CMCH)hydrogels were prepared by irradiating the aqueous solution mixture of NIPAAm and CMCH by 60Co γ-ay.The effects of feed ratio of NIPAAm and CMCH,temperature,pH and ionic strength on the swelling ratio of PNIPAAm/CMCH hydrogels were studied.The results show that the addition of CMCH shifts the lower critical solution temperature(LCST)of the PNIPAAm hydrogel to higher temperature.The PNIPAAm/CMCH hydrogel displays not only pH-and thermo-sensitivity,but also ion-sensitivity.Differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)was applied for the determination of the LCST of the hydrogel.

    查看更多>>摘要:We study the stochastic inventory problem with optimal(s,S)policies.In a finite horizon model with lost sales,we establish new lower and upper bounds of s and S.These bounds have structural implications for the optimal solutions.Consequently,when demand has a generalized phase type distribution,there are no more than a pre-determined number of minima.Similar bounds can also be found for the system where unsatisfied demand is backordered instead of lost sales.

    查看更多>>摘要:A motion information analysis system based on the acceleration data is proposed in this paper,consisting of filtering,feature extraction and classification.The Kalman filter is adopted to eliminate the noise.With the time-domain and frequency-domain analysis,acceleration features like the amplitude,the period and the acceleration region values are obtained.Furthermore.the accuracy of the motion classification is improved by using the k-nearest neighbor(KNN)algorithm.

    查看更多>>摘要:Automatic placement and routing technology provides an effective tool for designing simulation and information guidance.Various intelligent algorithms in mechanical design,ocean and ship engineering and aerospace design have been implemented.However,automatic placement and routing has never been integrated into interactive 3D application.In this paper,idea of combining the interactive 3D application with automatic placement and routing is proposed,and its main issue is discussed.Then we present a new placement and routing algorithm suitable for 3D interactive application containing model design,fundamental algorithm and global optimization to remove routing blockage.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm works effectively in simulation,meets the requirements of real-time rendering and has great practical value.
