    Numerical and experimental study of the effects of wind turbine operation on sand-dust transport characteristics

    查看更多>>摘要:Given factors such as reduced land availability for onshore wind farms,wind resource enrichment levels,and costs,there is a growing trend of establishing wind farms in deserts,the Gobi,and other arid regions.Therefore,the relationship between sand-dust weather environments and wind turbine operations has garnered significant attention.To investigate the impact of wind turbine wakes on sand-dust transportation,this study employs large eddy simulation to model flow fields,coupled with an actuator line model for simulating rotating blades and a multiphase particle in cell model for simulating sand particles.The research focuses on a horizontal axis wind turbine model and examines the motion and spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of four typical sizes of sand particles in the turbine wake.The findings reveal that sand particles of varying sizes exhibit a spiral settling pattern after traversing the rotating plane of wind turbine blades,influenced by blade shedding vortex and gravity.Sand particles tend to cluster in the peripheries of the vortex cores of low vorticity in the wind turbine wake.The rotation of wind turbines generates a wake vortex structure that causes a significant clustering of sand particles at the tip vortex.As the wake distance increases,the particles that cluster at the turbine's tip gradually spread outward to approximately twice the rotor diameter and then begin to mix with the incoming flow environment.Wind turbines have a noticeable impact on sand-dust transportation,hindering their movement to a significant extent.The average sand-blocking rate exhibits a trend of initially increasing and then decreasing as the wake distance increases.At its peak,the sand-blocking rate reaches an impressive 67.55%.The presence of wind turbines induces the advanced settling of sand particles,resulting in a"triangular"distribution of the deposition within the ground projection area of the wake.

    Unconventional phonon spectra and obstructed edge phonon modes

    查看更多>>摘要:Based on the elementary band representations(EBR),many topologically trivial materials are classified as unconventional ones(obstructed atomic limit),where the EBR decomposition for a set of electronic states is not consistent with atomic valence-electron band representations.In the work,we identify that the unconventional nature can also exist in phonon spectra,where the EBR decomposition for a set of well-separated phonon modes is not consistent with atomic vibration band representations(ABR).The unconventionality has two types:type Ⅰ is on an empty site;and type Ⅱ is on an atom site with non-atomic vibration orbitals.The unconventionality is described by the nonzero real-space invariant at the site.Our detailed calculations show that the black phosphorus(BP)has the type Ⅰ unconventional phonon spectrum,while 1H-MoSe2 has the type Ⅱ one,although their electronic structures are also unconventional.Accordingly,the obstructed phonon modes are obtained for two types of unconventional phonon spectra.

    查看更多>>摘要:EuCd2As2 was theoretically predicted to be a minimal model of Weyl semimetals with a single pair of Weyl points in the ferromagnet state.However,the heavily p-doped EuCd2As2 crystals in previous experiments prevent direct identification of the semimetal hypothesis.Here,we present a comprehensive magneto-transport study of high-quality EuCd2As2 crystals with ultralow bulk carrier density(1013 cm-3).In contrast to the general expectation of a Weyl semimetal phase,EuCd2As2 shows insulating behavior in both antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic states as well as surface-dominated conduction from band bending.Moreover,the application of a dc bias current can dramatically modulate the resistance by over one order of magnitude,and induce a periodic resistance oscillation due to the geometric resonance.Such nonlinear transport results from the high nonequilibrium state induced by an electrical field near the band edge.Our results suggest an insulating phase in EuCd2As2 and put a strong constraint on the underlying mechanism of anomalous transport properties in this system.

    查看更多>>摘要:Polarization-sensitive photodetection and imaging have great application value in fields such as polarization division multi-plexing optical communication,remote sensing,near-field imaging and military monitoring.Pursuing a high polarization ratio has always been the research hotspot in polarization-sensitive photodetectors.In this paper,we report a compression strain enhanced polarization ratio in β-gallium oxide(β-Ga2O3)single crystal flake.A rigorous crystallographic analysis confirmed its high crystalline quality and orientation.Angle-resolved polarization Raman spectroscopy(ARPRS)was adopted to study the anisotropy of its optical properties.Extensive ARPRS measurements and theoretical calculation consistently demonstrate the strong optical anisotropy in the high-quality β-Ga2O3 flake.A polarization ratio of 0.96 was obtained in the flat β-Ga2O3 flake.Furthermore,mechanical strain of±0.7%was introduced into β-Ga2O3.An increased polarization ratio of 0.98 was achieved in the case of 0.7%compression strain,which is,to the best of our knowledge,the highest value for UVC polarization-sensitive photodetectors.That corresponds to an improved polarization rejection ratio of 100.This work proposed a new path towards improving polarization sensitivity by applying strain engineering in the active material.

    查看更多>>摘要:Unconventional fermions in the immensely studied topological semimetals are the source for rich exotic topological properties.Here,using symmetry analysis and first-principles calculations,we propose the coexistence of multiple topological nodal struc-ture in LaSb2,including topological nodal surfaces,nodal lines and in particular eightfold degenerate nodal points,which have been scarcely observed in a single material.Further,utilizing angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy,we confirm the exis-tence of nodal surfaces and eightfold degenerate nodal points in LaSb2.The intriguing multiple topological nodal structure might play a crucial role in giving rise to the large linear magnetoresistance.Our work renews the insights into the exotic topological phenomena in LaSb2.

    Hybridization-mediated quasiparticle and phonon dynamics in single crystal cerium films

    查看更多>>摘要:We report the ultrafast optical pump-probe spectroscopy measurements on the single-crystal cerium films.Our experimental re-sults of temperature-dependent quasiparticle dynamics reveal development of the hybridization between localized f moments and conduction electrons,i.e.,evolving from fluctuating hybridization to collective hybridization.Exotic phonon renormaliza-tion is discovered to appear at the emerging temperature(T+)of fluctuating hybridization apart from its known presence at the coherent temperature(T*),and can hardly be explained by the mean-field theory.The quasiparticle relaxation at high temper-atures indicates coexistence of nonthermal electron-electron scattering and inelastic Kondo scattering,while its behavior at low temperatures suggests onset of a phase in the y-phase dominated film.We also extract the indirect gap below T*,representing the appearance of collective hybridization.Our findings provide novel information about the hybridization and phase evolution in the heavy fermion systems.

    查看更多>>摘要:Synchrotron-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy was employed to investigate the temperature evolution of the Yb 4f spectral for surface and bulk in the Kondo lattice YbCu2Si2.Our study quantitatively distinguishes between the surface and bulk hybridization processes,revealing that the onset temperatures for both surface and bulk hybridization processes are signif-icantly higher than the Kondo temperature.Additionally,we found that the effective surface Kondo temperature is much lower than that of the bulk.These findings offer valuable insights into the understanding of heavy fermion physics.

    查看更多>>摘要:We report a theory of thermal spin pumping into proximity magnets under a transverse-bias-driven heat flow of magnons in mag-netic films when the dipolar coupling to the magnetic gate is tuned to be"chiral".While there is no rectification of the magnon current in the film,we predict that chirality diverts a large percentage(50%for perfect chirality)of it into the gate.This transverse thermal spin pumping effect can be controlled by rotating the film magnetization and may help manage the heat flow in future magnonic circuits.
