Abstract
A new genus of the family Leucosiidae, Kabutos n. gen., is described for Merocryptus durandi Serene, 1955, from the western Pacific. Kabutos n. gen. is differentiated from other leucosiid genera by the combination of morphological features in the orbit, third maxilliped, chela and abdomen. Kabutos durandi is redescribed and the affinities with allied genera are discussed.
