Overall Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage of Traditional Villages—— Fieldwork Conducted on Kelanzhai Village,Tongren City, Guizhou Province
The wholeness-based principle is a pivotal one in conserving historical and cultural heritage. Historical and cultural heritage protection as a whole is a basic principle needs to be followed while traditional villages are put un-der conservation and development;whereas a better preservation of historical and cultural heritage and long-term de-velopment of traditional villages is an inevitable requirement. While the author was conducting the fieldwork on Kelanzhai Village,he found that problems had occurred like'development prioritized and protection belittled','local development and protection highlighted and wholeness otherwise ignored'in the wholeness-based preservation work. In case of wholeness-based protection of traditional villages for their historical and cultural heritage,equal im-portance needs to attach to historical and cultural heritage,and to village environment protection,and eventually to static and dynamic protection. Dual protection must be dealt out to material and intangible historical and cultural heritage of traditional villages,whose in-depth fusion into rural tourism awaits a further advancement.
