Transcending Capital Modernity:New Modernity Logic of Chinese Modernization
The logic of capital modernity constitutes the essence of Western capitalist modernization;capital as the main body of production is the fundamental characteristic of modern society.Since the reform and opening up,the modernization practice in China has transcended the logic of capital modernity via sublation,broken the abstract du-alism between the complete negation of capital and the uncritical affirmation of capital,and constructed a socialist modernization model that harnesses capital.On the one hand,this model keeps using and guiding capital to fully ac-tivate the'civilized side of capital'.On the other hand,it controls and regulates capital with the state power as the leading factor and production relations as the intermediary,effectively overcoming the'paradox of capital accumula-tion'.Chinese modernization transcending the capital modernity presents a range of new modernity logic,which has been committed to the people-centered development philosophy,which has built a mode of social harmony with com-mon prosperity,and constructed a well-coordinated driving mode of capital,state(power)and labour(people).The comprehensive and coordinated modernization strategy has taken shape in Chinese modernization,which has ini-tiated the road of peaceful development featuring win-win cooperation which harbors the whole world in mind.Chi-nese modernization has initiated a model of development-independence that maintains a reasonable tension between independence and opening up to the outside world.
