Effect of Heat Treatment Process on Microstructures in 15CrMo Alloy Structural Steel and Its Properties
The effect of different heat treatment processes on the microstructures in the 15CrMo alloy structural steel and its mechanical properties were studied. The study results showed that the microstructures in the tested steels at different normalizing temperatures were composed of ferrite, pearlite and bainite. With increasing of normalizing temperatures, the central segregation bands gradually disappeared, while the granular bainite structure gradually increased and became coarser, and the grain size gradually coarsened. The microstructures in the central segregation bands were granular bainite, and these elements such as C,Mn,Cr and Mo occurred segregation phenomena in this region. And also with increasing of normalizing temperatures, the yield strength and tensile strength of tempered samples gradually increased, while the elongation and impact toughness decreased. However, after normalizing at 900℃and tempering at 650℃,the tested steels could get good strength and toughness matching.
