Analysis on Causes Leading to Black Lines on Edges of IF Steels and Countermeasures
In view of the problem that black lines occurred on the edges of IF steels,it was believed that the shapes of the edges of the slabs,the service life of a hot-rolled vertical roller,the materials and rolling reduction against the sides of the slabs were the main causes leading to the defect of black lines at the sides based on analysis.By taking such measures as adopting a cham-fer crystallizer for changing the shapes of the edges of the slabs,shorting the use cycle of the ver-tical rollers,optimizing the materials of the vertical roller and reducing the rolling reduction from the sides of the vertical rollers,the black line defect rate on edges of IF steels was reduced to 0.39%from 0.57%,which could save 140,000 yuan per month.
