Improvement of Defects Caused by Marking Residua on Surface of Continuous Casting Slabs
In view of the problem that the defect of burrs occurred on the edges of hot rolled steel coils,it was concluded that the iron oxide scales resulted from those slabs covered partially by spray printing marks were not removed completely and remained on the edge of the hot rolled steel coils due to the adjustment of the hot rolling heating process. By means of adjusting the spray printing material and on the premise of ensuring the clarity and adhesion of the existing slab markings, the problem of residual oxide scales in the area of slabs covered by the markings was effectively solved, and the edge quality of the hot rolled steel coils was then effectively improved. Especially by using the improved alloy spray marking wires, the proportion of burr-free defects on the edge of the hot rolled coils could reach over 98%.
