Numerical Simulation Study on Process Conditions Optimization for Argon Injecting through Down-leg by RH Refining
The formation of bubbles and their movement behaviors, and removing of inclusions based on the argon injection technology through down-leg by RH refining were studied by numerical simulations. After optimization of the process conditions for argon injecting through down-leg by RH refining, the flow rate of argon blowing was 3 000 mL/min and the pipe diameter of the down-leg was 450 mm,while the distribution diffusibity of bubbles was slightly less diffuse than the initial working conditions(the argon-blowing flow rate was 480 mL/min,the down-leg diameter was 550 mm). However, the quantity of bubbles increased significantly and the bubble filtration volume was slightly larger than that under the initial working conditions.Particularly, the removal rate of inclusions with the size of 10 μm was twice than that of the the initial working conditions.
