As a part of the Yongzhen iron ore field, the Zhaocun-Liucun iron deposit was discovered through geomagnetic anomaly verification and was found to be a medium-sized one by followup mineral exploration. The iron ore bodies,lens-like to stratoid, occur near the"rock concave"of the contact zone,in the marlstone and calcareous mudstone of the Xujiashan Formation in the middle Triassic, belonging to a typical porphyritic iron deposit. The ore bodies are shallow and dominated by magnetic iron, which is easy to develop. The"rock concave"structure is the most important ore-controlling structure in this area. The magnetic anomaly plays an irreplaceable role in the discovery of iron ore and the arrangement of exploration workings. It is expected to make new progress in the peripheral and deep exploration around the deposit.
