Exploration and practice of using multiple parameters of complex resistivity(CR)method to distinguish metal ore anomalies from carbonaceous interference anomalies
In the 1980s,Institute of Exploration Technology of Anhui Province(originally the First Comprehensive Geophysical Exploration Team of the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources)introduced spectral IP instruments to carry out a lot of research work on water tank modeling and physical-property specimens, including long-term exploration on the use of complex-resistivity multiple parameters to distinguish the properties of different polarized materials, summarized the law of changes of complex-resistivity parameters of different polarized materials with their volumetric content, particle size, shape and occurrence, and the changes of complex-resistivity parameters of same polarized materials with the device, burial depth and measurement position. In particular, positive progress has been made in the use of the complex-resistivity time constant parameter to distinguish and identify carbonaceous anomalies. It has been verified in an exploration project at a livestock breeding station in the Inner Mongolia. In this paper,a large number of physical-property research results and an exploration practice show that there are regular differences in complex-resistivity parameters for different polarized materials, and it is feasible to distinguish metal ore anomalies from carbonaceous interference anomalies by using complex-resistivity multi-parameter comprehensive qualitative interpretation, which has high reference values for qualitative interpretation of IP anomalies in other areas.
