Effect of Solvent-Antisolvent System and PEG on Particle Morphology of PCL Electrostatic Spray
In order to study the formation mechanism of different morphologies of PCL microspheres prepared by electro-static spraying technology, we used polycaprolactone (PCL) as the research object and dichloromethane (DCM), di-chloromethane-N, N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as the solvent to study the effects of different collection distances, voltages, solvent ratios and collection media on the morphologies of PCL microspheres prepared by electrostatic spray technology. In addition, the effect of adding polyethylene glycol (PEG) on the morphology of the product was also stud-ied. The experimental results showed that when DCM was used as a solvent, golf ball shaped particles were obtained. When DCM/DMF was used as a solvent with a ratio of 9:1 and the collection medium was ethanol, bowl shaped parti-cles were obtained. After adding PEG to the electrospray solution, polymer beads were obtained.
