Comprehensive Experiment about Synthesis and Corrosion Inhibition of Lysine Schiff Base
Aninnovative experiment was designed about solvent-free synthesis and corrosion inhibition of environmentally friendly lysine Schiff base. Lysine Schiff base was synthesized from lysine and vanillin by solvent-free method. The struc-ture of lysine Schiff base was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR). The corrosion inhibition ef-fect of lysine Schiff base corrosion inhibitor on Q235 steel at 30℃ in 0.5 mol·L-1 H2SO4 solution was studied by weight loss method and electrochemical method. The corrosion inhibition mechanism was discussed, and the adsorption thermodynamic study of lysine Schiff base was carried out. The experimental results show that the corrosion inhibition efficiency of lysine Schiff base is higher at the same dosage compared with lysine. When the addition of lysine Schiff base was 500 mol·L-1, the corrosion inhibition efficiency reached 86.09%. The adsorption of lysine Schiff base molecules on the surface of Q235 steel has both physical adsorption and chemical adsorption, which can reduce the corrosion reaction rate by reducing the anode metal dissolution and cathode hydrogen evolution reaction. It is a mixed corrosion inhibitor. Through this experiment, stu-dents' scientific research ability can be stimulated and their experimental ideas can be expanded.
