Research Progress on the Biodegradability of Polymer Plastics
Biodegradable polymer plastics have received widespread attention with the increasing awareness of environ-mental protection among consumers. This article provides a detailed introduction to the biodegradation mechanism of polymer plastics. Emphasis was placed on the biodegradation in two different environments:aerobic biodegradation and anaerobic biodegradation. And an analysis was conducted on the degradation products and residual materials during the aerobic biodegradation process. In addition,a detailed introduction will be provided on the degradation mechanism and influencing factors of polyvinyl alcohol.
