Study on the Effect of Sodium Nitrate on the Performance of Emulsion Explosive
In order to further reduce costs and optimize the formulation of emulsion explosives, the effect of sodium nitrate mass fraction on the performance of emulsion explosives was studied. Water phase materials containing 0%,3%,6% and 9% sodium nitrate were used to prepare emulsion explosives samples. The crystallization point of the water phase material was tested, and the detonation velocity and strength of explosives at different storage times were tested. The results show that as the mass fraction of sodium nitrate increases, the crystallization point of aqueous materials decreases from 83℃ to 76℃,and the detonation velocity and strength of emulsion explosives first increase and then decrease. When the mass fraction of sodium nitrate is 3%,the detonation velocity and intensity of the explosive reach their maximum values of 5755 m/s and 16.5 mm,respectively.
