Structure Characteristics of the Dominant Species Populations in the Quercus Communities in Anhui Tianma National Nature Reserve
Quercus natural secondary forest is a typical forest type in Anhui Tianma National Nature Reserve. In this paper, in order to understand the different types of community structure and their roles in forest ecological functions, the Quercus Communities in the re-serve were classified using the K-means method based on the sample survey and the important value of species with an analysis on the population structures of its dominant species. The results showed that:1. There were rich plants with 294 species belonging to 202 gen-era in 79 families in the Quercus natural secondary forest communities including 269 dicotyledon species, which account for 91.5%of all the species. 2. There were 5 main Quercus community types including Quercus variabilis+Quercus glauca-Lindera erythrocarpa-Juncus setchuensis community, Quercus glauca+Fortunearia sinensis-Lindera erythrocarpa-Ophiopogon bodinieri community, Castanea seguinii- Viburnum dilatatum- Pteridium aquilinum community, Castanea seguinii+ Cyclobalanopsis glauca- Lindera praecox-Juncus setchuensis community, and Quercus acutissima+Cornus controversa-Lindera erythrocarpa-Oplismenus undulati-folius community. 3. The diameter grade structure of the dominant tree species was complete, showing an upside-down"J"type, with the highest proportion of diameter grade Ⅱ, accounting for 41.01%of all the plants. The grades of the tree height level showed a single-peak normal distribution with the largest proportion of height grade Ⅳ plants, reaching 29.37%, followed by grade Ⅲ and Ⅴ plants.
