Abstract
In this paper,based on the Digital Elevation Model(DEM),a discussion was made on the slope bitmap generation method based on DEM,mainly including such techniques as DEM data acquisition and pre-processing,generation of valley map,ridge map,flat map,upper,middle and lower slope bitmaps,and integration and generation of a slope map.The techniques could be used to con-vert DEM data into a slope bitmap to provide data support for terrain analysis and forestry applications.
