Research Progress on the Forest Soil Organic Carbon Dynamics
As the largest carbon pool in the terrestrial ecosystem, the soil carbon pool accounts for about 2/3 of the total carbon pool in the terrestrial ecosystems, and its carbon cycling process plays an important role in such aspects as regulating the global carbon bal-ance and mitigating climate warming.Up to now, many important advances have been made in study on the forest soil organic carbon. In this paper,an elaboration was made on the formation process, spatial distribution characteristics and estimation methods and analy-sis of the forest soil organic carbon with a focused generation of the influencing factors of the forest soil organic carbon dynamics and an analysis on the existing problems and future priorities in studying the forest soil organic carbon dynamics,so as to provide reference for further understanding the spatial-temporal dynamics of the soil organic carbon.
