Comparative study on grafting of four Cerasus plants
In order to understand the growth characteristics and differences of the grafted seedlings,the grafting experiments were carried out with the rootstock of Cerasus campanulata and the scions of C.campanulata'Nanyuehong',C.discoidea,C.dielsiana and C.subhirtella var.ascendens.The results showed that the four Cerasus plants of the average grafting survival rate was 78.45%at the end of the year,and the order was C.campanulata'Nanyuehong'>C.dielsiana>C.subhirtella var.ascendens>C.discoidea.The healing rate was positively correlated with the survival rate.The plant height of the four Cerasus plants exceeded 2 m in the whole year,but the difference among between each other was very significant(P<0.01).The diameter of C.dielsiana was the largest and that of C.subhirtella var.ascendens was the smallest.C.dielsiana and C.campanulata'Nanyuehong'were significantly different from C.discoidea and C.subhirtella var.ascendens(P<0.01).The fast height growth period was from sprouting to June 25th,the cumulative growth was in the order of C.dielsiana>C.campanulata'Nanyuehong'>C.subhirtella var.ascendens>C.discoidea,and the difference between C.discoidea and the other three Cerasus plants was very significant(P<0.01).The fast diameter growth period was from budding to August 25th,the cumulative growth was ranked as C.campanulata'Nanyuehong'>C.dielsiana>C.discoidea>C.subhirtella var.ascendens,and the difference between C.campanulata'Nanyuehong',C.dielsiana and C.discoidea,C.subhirtella var.ascendens was very significant(P<0.01).
