Effects of different substrates and growth regulators on cutting propagation of Camellia japonica
In order to probe the different substrates and growth regulators on cutting propagation of Camellia japonica, the effects of 3 different types substrates (river sand, perlite, garden soil+river sand )and 3 different types growth regulators (NAA, IBA, ABT-1) on cutting propagation were investigated with the tender branches of C. japonica'Jinpanlizhi'. Results showed that the rooting rates of the cuttings with the substrate of garden soil+river sand were the highest, while the rooting rates of the cuttings with the substrate of perlite were the lowest. The order of rooting index and root biomass of C. japonica with 3 different types substrates was garden soil+river sand > river sand > perlite. IBA treatment had the highest amount of rooting. NAA treatment had the lowest amount of rooting. IBA treatment had the longest average root length of cuttings. ABT-1 treatment had the longest root length of cuttings. The rooting index and root biomass of C. japonica cuttings were all consistent, the order of rooting index and root biomass of C. japonica cuttings with 3 differen types growth regulators was ABT-1>IBA>NAA>CK.
