Analysis of control techniques for Oligia vulgaris
Oligia vulgaris are common pests in Phyllostachys edulis forest management, causing significant harm to Phyllostachys edulis shoots and timber, affecting the yield and quality of Phyllostachys edulis shoots and timber. In order to better control the Oligia vulgaris, improve the yield and quality of Phylostachys edulis, and promote the healthy and sustainable development of the Phyllostachys edulis industry, the effects of comprehensive control measures were analyzed such as chemical control, physical control, and afforestation on the occurrence and decline of bamboo shoots at different stand densities. The results showed that maintaining a standing bamboo density below 150 plants/667 m² could increase the Phyllostachys edulis shoot formation rate, and reduced the pest retreat rate. After implementing comprehensive prevention and control measures, the incidence of Phyllostachys edulis shoots in Phyllostachys edulis forests after prevention and control was higher, while the reduction rate of insect infestation was lower.By adopting comprehensive prevention and control techniques, the harm of Oligia vulgaris could be effectively reduced, the rate of pest retreat could be reduced, and the rate of new Phyllostachys edulis shoots forming in Phyllostachys edulis could be increased.
