Effects of exogenous salicylic acid or melatonin on seed germination and seedling growth of soybean under salt stress
In order to explore the effects of exogenous salicylic acid and melatonin on seed germination and seedling growth of soybean under salt stress,a more effective alleviator was selected. In this experiment, soybean Jiyu 204 was used as the material.Salicylic acid or melatonin with concentrations of 0.1,0.2 and 0.5 mmol/L were exogenous applied to soybean seeds under 100 mmol/L NaCl stress, respectively, and germination experiments were carried out on petri dish paper.Germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vitality index, relative salt damage rate, fresh weight and seedling length were measured. The results showed that compared with Ck0(blank control, without NaCl force),the germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vitality index, fresh weight and seedling length of soybean seedlings under 100 mmol/L NaCl stress decreased by 28.34%,21.67%,35.89%,47.79%,21.16%and 47.82%,respectively,and the relative salt damage rate was 30.91%.Salicylic acid or melatonin at concentrations of 0.1、0.2.0.5 mmol/L promoted the germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vigor index, fresh weight and seedling growth of soybean seeds under salt stress, and decreased the relative salt damage rate.Among them, compared with CK1(NaCl force),the germination rate, germination potential, germination index, vitality index, seedling fresh weight and seedling length of salt-stressed soybean seeds treated with 0.2 mmol/L melatonin increased by 23.00%,25.00%,43.43%,66.84%,20.19%and 19.12%,respectively,and the relative salt damage rate decreased to 23.48%.The alleviating effect of melatonin on soybean salt stress is better than that of salicylic acid on the whole, and it can be used as a better alleviating agent for soybean to resist salt stress.
