The impact of planting models on quinoa production
To explore the impact of planting models on quinoa production, the agronomic traits, yield, and yield components of quinoa under 3 different cultivation models:trenching direct seeding, seedling transplanting, and mulching seed planting were compared, the economic benefits of different cultivation models were analyzed. The results showed that the entire growth period of quinoa seedling transplanting was shorter and the plant height was higher. In terms of yield and yield composition, the number of plants per unit area was highest in ditching direct seeding and lowest in mulching seed planting. The weight of individual spikes was highest during seedling transplanting and lowest during trenching and direct seeding. The highest thousand grain weight was achieved through seedling transplanting, while the lowest was achieved through trenching and direct seeding. The yield of quinoa transplanted from seedlings was higher than the other two cultivation methods, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There were differences in the economic benefits of quinoa among the 3 models, with the highest being seedling transplanting and the lowest being mulching seed planting. The comprehensive evaluation found that the seedling transplanting model was safe and had high economic benefits, suitable for large-scale planting and production of quinoa, the trenching direct seeding model was suitable for quinoa cultivation and production in mountainous and hilly areas with average production conditions.
