Effects of leaf structure optimization on tobacco plant growth and tobacco leaf quality in Bin County area
To explore the effects of leaf structure optimization on tobacco plant growth and tobacco leaf quality in Bin County area,Longjiang 911 was used as test material to conduct regional experiments at 5 test sites including Aiguo Village in Ningyuan Town, agronomic traits such as plant height, leaf length and leaf width, economic traits such as yield and output value, and chemical components such as nicotine, chlorine and total sugar were measured at each sampling point after leaf structure optimization(removal of 4-6 base leaves in boom period),and sensory evaluation was conducted on aroma temperament, aroma quantity and aroma type. The results showed that the plant height was 114.3-117.3 cm after leaf structure optimization.Compared with no leaf optimization, the length and leaf width of flue-cured tobacco increased, the proportion of medium and fine tobacco, the unit price of tobacco and the output value increased significantly. The content of nicotine, total sugar and reducing sugar in middle and upper leaves of tobacco leaves after structural optimization showed an overall increasing trend, while the ratio of sugar to alkali in middle leaves showed an overall increasing trend. After the optimization of tobacco structure, the chlorine content decreased, while the potassium content increased, and the total score of sensory evaluation increased. In conclusion, the growth condition, output value and quality of Longjiang 911 tobacco plant after leaf structure optimization were significantly improved, the chemical composition of middle and upper leaves was more coordinated, and it was more in line with industrial demand.Leaf structure optimization could be carried out in production to improve flue-cured tobacco quality. The research results provide references for taking reasonable cultivation technical measures of flue-cured tobacco in Bin County area.
