Investigation and control of piercing-sucking pests in garden plants
The piercing-sucking pests of garden plants in Chongming District of Shanghai were investigated by using the methods of general survey and spot survey.The species,host plants,damage degree and community composition of the pests were understood,so as to provide a reference for the control of piercing-sucking pests of garden plants in this area.The results showed that 67 species of piercing-sucking pests from 18 families were recorded,including 65 species from 17 families of Hemiptera,with 8 dominant species;and 2 species in 1 family of Thysanoptera,with 1 dominant species.In terms of damage degree,41 species were classified as light(+),accounting for 61.20%;17 species as moderate(++),accounting for 25.37%;and 9 species as severe(+++),accounting for 13.43%.There were many kinds of piercing-sucking pests in the garden plants in this area,but the composition and structure of the pests were relatively simple,and the species mainly concentrated in a few families.In view of the pest damage of garden plants in this area,the comprehensive application of pest monitoring,agricultural measures and ecological regulation,physical control,biological control and chemical control measures were proposed.
