The impact of digital trade on the length of manufacturing global value chains
With the rapid development of information technology, digital trade has promoted the deep integration and expansion of global supply chains. Based on panel data from 60 countries from 2007 to 2018, a digital trade measurement index was constructed through principal component analysis to verify the impact of digital trade development on the length of the global value chain in manufacturing. A moderating effect model was constructed to further verify the moderating effect of financial development level on the length of the global value chain in manufacturing. The results show that the development of digital trade extends the length of the global value chain in manufacturing industries of various countries, but its impact on the length of the global value chain shows a U-shaped relationship of first decreasing and then increasing; Through the moderation effect test, it was found that the level of financial development has an effective moderating effect on the length of the global value chain in the manufacturing industry.
