Will environmental regulation improve the mismatch of resources in our country——An empirical study based on 2004-2022 dynamic panel data
Based on the panel data of 29 provinces in China from 2004 to 2022, the misallocation index of regional capital, labor force and energy factor resources in China is estimated. Further, the two-step regression method of GMM is used to conduct regression analysis on environmental regulation and misallocation of capital, labor force and energy factor through dynamic panel model, and the mechanism of their interaction is also analyzed. The empirical results show that: (1) the misallocation of capital, labor and energy is widespread in China, and there are regional differences; (2) Strengthening environmental regulation policies can significantly improve resource misallocation; (3) The influence of control variables on resource mismatch is different, and the resource mismatch in China can be improved through policy adjustment.
